What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by Grubster on Aug 28, 2008 6:46:53 GMT 1, I have followed his work now for the past year and like his recent work, a lot. Especially the stuff from the can's festival (cheeky cherub and tiffany for breakfast). great detail in his stenciling and unique style.
Does any1 have any other thoughts on his work and or what he's doing as of recent, street or gallery?

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 28, 2008 7:46:45 GMT 1, can't wait to see Raivenhaired as a print (if it ever happens). It would definitly be the 1st Eelus print I'f be interested in buying. I think some of his other work is ammusing or interesting, but not enough to want to own it. I know he has a lot of avid fans on here though. I do also have a lot of respect for him keeping pricing sensible, even after selling out of so many editions. If he were the greedy type, he could get away with asking for a bit more imo. Good on him!

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by robinbanks on Aug 28, 2008 7:58:00 GMT 1, I really like the new direction his work is going in. The old Star Wars stuff did nothing for me at all - in fact it reminded me of some of the tatty joke t-shirts you get down the market. His new stuff has much more atmosphere - it engages you a lot more and in my opinion can be classed as proper 'art'.

Totally agree - Eelus was one of the artists I used to see as a second rate Banksy rip off, but I stand corrected. What with seeing Pobel's piece on another thread, I am standing corrected a lot today ! ;D

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by Ruggs on Aug 28, 2008 8:43:17 GMT 1, I'm liking his newer stuff. I've recently purchased the Tiffany for Breakfast print and it's a very nice print. The colourways are fantastic. The Cheeky Cherub also looks great. I'm a bit surprised they're still available. I think his day will come!

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by ElectrikSheep on Aug 28, 2008 8:53:03 GMT 1, He's definitely gone from strength to strength over the past year, and it's great to see him getting more and more involved in shows and street pieces. His pieces in Dublin were great, as was his wall at the show.
For any fans out there he's treating us to a solo show on October 2nd, for which he'll be preparing some unique pieces, we'll announce more on here nearer the time. Until then we've a couple of his existing prints in stock, just to wet the appetite! (agreed ruggs, the prints are superb in the flesh)

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by jonpud on Aug 28, 2008 11:01:09 GMT 1, Hmmm, lots of people on here slating the Star Wars 'stuff' well just to add a different perspective.......I really liked the 'Shat-At' image, it was simple and amusing, however the quality of the canvas edition is something else!
I wasn't a big fan of Chewbarber and perhaps he didn't need to push it one further with 'Wot-U-Lookin-At?' but Shat-At will always remain one of my favorite owned pieces of art!

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by Daniel Silk on Aug 28, 2008 12:38:19 GMT 1, A big plus with Eelus is that his new print releases have still been very affordable ;D More and more artists are pricing themselves out of the scene so its great to see Eelus regularly coming out with new work that everyone can get a piece of ;D

i understand where your coming from Carlito. however i would say that the price of E's originals at Dreweatts is a sign that he had grown a bigger fan base before the auctions.

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by bobbyt23 on Aug 28, 2008 13:03:34 GMT 1, Always been a fan of Eelus and in some ways I'm glad he did multiple colourways as I missed out on the originals first time round so it allowed me to get one. The only reason I haven't got any of his new stuff is I've got nowhere to put it.
I think his next few pieces will get better and better.

What's the Forum's take on EELUS ?, by jusdeep on Aug 28, 2008 13:53:29 GMT 1, I love some of E's early stuff (well apart from Chew Barber). I have a blue Shat At AP on my wall which is still one of my fave prints. As others have said I would love to see Raven Haired released as a print and am loving the new grittier direction he has opted for. Can't wait to see what he comes up with for his first solo show. In my book he deserves a lot more praise in the scene than he has been recieving. Hopefully with his work at Cans 1 and his recent print releases/solo show things are about to change.
