4BYSIX Break in Emergency, by 4bysix on Jul 17, 2023 10:40:18 GMT 1,
The internationally renowned artists Ben Cabral, Blake Jones, Dan Witz, Jonathan Edelhuber, Motonori Uwasu, Qin Tan, Geoffrey Bouillot, Lady Pink, Kpe Innocent, Francisco Moreira, Mogu Takahashi, Niall Strachan, Yokoteen, Tozzoli and Nantoka will each be showing four original works of art in a gallery just off of Portobello Rd, Notting Hill. The exhibition will open at 6pm on the 21st of July, running until the 30th at 19 Kensington Park Rd, W11 2EU. Alongside the exhibition will be an auction featuring all of their work.
In this exhibition, 4BYSIX will feature unique work from these artists on salvaged London buses. Sections of the bus's aluminium cladding have been cut and repurposed into canvases, a few of which retain the iconic red. As with all of 4BYSIXโs work, the proceeds of these pieces in their ensuing auction will go directly towards social projects across the city.
These artists represent each corner of the globe, with styles just as varied as their location. North American Artists Blake Jones and Jonathan Edelhuber present two wildly different artistic dogmas, one a study of complex emotion and the latter a study of context in the present art movement. Dan Witz and Lady Pink, both New York based painters who found their way in the 80s, show that even a specific moment in time doesnโt create artists alike. While both tinted with Asian visual culture, both Japanese-based artists Motonori Uwasu and Geoffrey Bouillot once again represent two incredibly different perspectives. Kpe Innocent, a Ghanaian artist, lends us his minimalist vision of life while Ben Cabral goes for the complete opposite, using pearls instead of paint. This show just goes to show that it is near impossible to perfectly generalise art based on its country of origin. We warmly welcome you to visit this edition of Break In Emergency and can guarantee there will be something for everyone.
