Are you serious mate? This is an open edition poster and there are literally about ten thousand+ out there, you can pick them up on ebay for less than a third of the price and even that is a piss take imo. Just because someone got completely mugged off at Sotheby's doesn't make this worth a grand, which is still completely mugging off a buyer.

You or they are lying. They have sold many thousands over the last few years and continue to do so AFAIK. The edition size must currently be at 5000. Glws, you'll need it now

The were an edition of 1000 I remember seeing it on the website at the time I purchased and took a screenshot. They did remove this reference later on however.

Thanks, didn’t know. It’s what they told me in store where i bought it after visiting the great exhibition in NL.
The museum is privately owned, they’re not interested in printing tons of these. It was meant for people whom visited the exhibition.

I'm not going to comment on the asking price but there's a whole thread devoted to these, just after they went on sale at Voorlinden, and the general opinion was they were printed on better quality paper than the usual thin poster stock, and being printed to the edge, were a classier looking poster than most.

At the time I commented that they could also look great when framed up, as per this example from PFG.

Without wishing to derail the seller's thread, & in contrast to the Voorlinden poster, there's a similar style poster / JW 'interior' still available at David Kordansky - more traditional exhibition poster layout, and printed on thinner paper, but in stock for $50.

I've got to agree, there are lots of these out there. I've got one in perfect condition unframed to sell, but the market seems a bit flooded. I may frame mine. But I've got no more wall space and many pieces I like more. Good problems to have!

These are lovely posters. I have one framed. It gets lots attention by friends that visit. Regardless of how many were eventually printed I would say an asking price of £350-£400 wouldn’t be that unreasonable.
