I like Jakes work and have known of him and his work for quite a few years, back before Unit picked him up. I saw some of his paintings at a graduation show I try to visit every year at Falmouth School of Art. For a relatively unknown artist and it being a giclee I feel personally this is overpriced.

I feel we’ve entered a time where prints are just really expensive now. Especially from artists who are trying to assert themselves as more contemporary-refined artists. Also, I think some artists are sepcfically silkscreen minded first with emphasis on prints, but someone like Jake is a painter first who probably doesn’t even think about prints in his creative process . I don’t think he would ever create a pure silkscreen. Although these prints do have silkscreen varnish.
I think the charcoal is actually a pretty good price considering each one is unique.

I also think most people in the art world don’t care as much about silkscreen versus giclee like we do on here. A good image is a good image.

Yeah, was tempted by the large one as well, but in the end just couldn't afford it. Looks great though, and I think the image will be even better with size

Thanks. I really like it as a lot of time handfinishing is purely aesthetic but I feel like this completely adds to and changes the piece.
