The Ravi Zupa price example alone is enough evidence of a problem for me, let alone the issue with some artists not getting paid. I've requested refunds. It's a shame but glad I posted so that this can be brought to light for others.

A print I bought yesterday has come back today and is now about 12% higher than yesterday.
Happy with my purchases either way, but certainly more cautious now.

But when the math of 40% off $110 comes out to $1 more than the original price of $65 itโs hard to claim otherwise. If your happy with the piece for the price by all means. But itโd be hard for me to find a piece I had to have enough to support fraud.

Hard to have regard for a gallery who manipulates their prices to give the illusion of a deal to get one over on their customers. I feel bad for associated artists because it could hurt their reputation, especially if they are complicit in the act.

You may be right, was giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking the sales tactics may be more of the galleries doing.

One I know of one instance in particular was a set of prints they released during pow wow Hawaii a few years ago, they sold out in under an hour. I still see these prints so up on the site for huge mark-ups.

So a difference in pricing within the same edition is nothing new. Not paying their artists is a good reason to not support them but their sales tactics wouldn't be for me. Know who you are dealing with and make an informed decision when considering a purchase.

If this was a UK based website, trading standards could be contacted as it appears to be breaking consumer laws. Does the U.S have a similar agency that could be contacted?

Probably the Michigan state attorney general since their bases in Detroit. Thatโd probably be the only chance to have anything done about it.
