Art On A Postcard, by Deleted on Jul 16, 2017 22:29:29 GMT 1, Maths is not unfortunately this easy... In fact: If you buy 5 tickets you actually have a 12% chance of winning (at least) one If you buy 40 tickets you have a 67.3% chance of winning (at least) one With 5 tickets you have a 3.94... × 10^-8 % chance of winning all five (this is very small)
I'm loving all this math guys 😂 however, isn't it one ticket per person? 😁🎟👨 I wish everyone good luck. X

Art On A Postcard, by Deleted on Jul 16, 2017 22:37:35 GMT 1, If there are 5 APs and 200 tickets then isn't it a 1/40 chance of winning and not 1/200? Either way, I'm not entering as the Boot Sale was very unsatisfactory; where did the missing 10 prints go? I think that this might also break the law unless they are registered with a gambling license. It's the reason why when Ant & Dec do their competitions, in the small print there's always an option to enter for free by post. That gets around the gambling element. Caveating all of that with not being a lawyer, but I think that might be the case. If it is, they'll be on very shaky ground with the Charity Commission. I've never known people wanting to break the balls of a charity before, only on UAA eh? Makes me wonder why certain people are obsessing about the Law, to be honest comes across as very bitter. As long as they have good intent, they are fine and haven't knowingly broken the law, thats how a judge would see it. I say good day to you Sir. Not knowing the law, is a pretty weak defence. I'm sure the vast majority of charities if not all try to do their best, but let's not be naive charities can't just be given a free ride to do what they want. That's just not how it works. Years ago, I supported a local organisation to get charitable status so I know a bit about this area. It's an unbelievably arduous process and one that involves sticking to a defined code of conduct and very clear rules on fund raising and accountability. If this wasn't in place anyone could just call themselves a charity.
I was pretty surprised that this charity has on occasions taken quite confrontational stance with their prospective patrons and I saw this first hand at the Boot Sale. I guess they're entitled to do that, but in my opinion it reflected poorly on them.

Art On A Postcard, by coller on Jul 17, 2017 0:45:52 GMT 1, Eh I don't really like paid lotteries like this, regardless of the cause. It always seems like a way to milk people who are desperate. Would've much rather had them just charge 2kGBP for the five APs instead of becoming a casino for charity lol
So probably a pass for me. Good luck to those who enter, and glad the charity is getting money at the end of the day despite the method.

Seems like AOAP can't win whatever they do. Appease the complainers and receive more complaints. Because of all the drama, I'd be surprised of they offer something nice like this again next year.

What a good life you must live if you find yourself desperate for a print.

Not complaining to AOAP so I don't think I'm creating any drama for them. Life will go on.

I get what you meant tbh. I think they can only get away with it because it's a charity. I am not sure what would be better for someone who wants the print though. Would you buy one, two, five tickets and risk not getting anything from it, or be charged 2k for a tiny print, which would put a lot of normal people out of the game.

Art On A Postcard, by Winks on Jul 17, 2017 7:54:36 GMT 1, The gambling act defines this asa simple lottery. i.e. You pay and the prize is purely by chance. Where are the rules/terms? How is fair play ensured. There are IG posts already about 10 prints missing. I'm all for charity but I'm equally for fair play. Once people know the rules they can make an informed choice.
In my opinion

I ain't putting anything, cause if I do, and I'm close, I'll be accused of knowing something, which I don't! I need the loo! Hurry up!
