Kanye Loves Kanye print by Sydney artist Scott Marsh sold to unknown buyer for $100,000
Last month Marsh painted the now famous Kanye Loves Kanye mural in Chippendale which shows the controversial rapper standing at six metres tall in a lovers embrace with himself.
However, soon after it was painted, Marsh was contacted by someone claiming to be from the singer's management offering him a "pretty decent chunk of money" to paint over the wall.
Marsh responded by asking for a six-figure payment and a lifetime supply of West's signature Yeezy Boost sneakers.
He also released a one-off buffed print edition of the mural for $100,000 saying "if [Kanye] buys that print then I'll paint over the mural".
The print has now sold according to Marsh who announced he was heading to the Lord Gladstone bar in Chippendale to "drink from the top shelf" with his earnings.
Whether the buyer was Kanye West is not known.
Marsh's mural was to reflect "the love Kanye West has for himself" and was inspired by a photograph of Kanye and wife Kim Kardashian West posing at the Grammy Awards.
West was given two weeks from March 30 to buy the print from online art store 1xRUN.

There's a price check thread to better gauge the price for what you would like to sell. It's there, you just have to look and because you didn't people are jumping down your throat. Welcome to the site, it can be a cruel world on here. Mistakes will keep you from making them again.

How do you put a price on this? the one other that is for sale on Ebay is smaller size and 204 printed where there are only 25 of this size.

The smaller one on ebay has a day left, zero bids and a $25 starting price. You'd be hard pressed getting your cost out of it. |
