ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on May 8, 2016 20:41:28 GMT 1, Hey people, I've been hard at work on a new edition of screen prints. It's going to be called Black Gold and released in three colours. So this is a chance for me to show off some of what I've been up to, I'll be posting up some other pics in this thread soon.

ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on Jan 22, 2017 23:37:34 GMT 1, I've been working on a new screen printed edition to be released soon. Instead of starting a new thread for it, I'm going to breathe some new life into this earlier one.
The title of this print is Buff Zebra ... for obvious reasons. I'm using 300 gsm Somerset satin paper, and I've mixed up the green to resemble a similar colour they use in my city to cover over graffiti.

ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on Feb 22, 2017 22:02:47 GMT 1, They're a good size, larger scale than I normally work to at 56 x 56 cms and each sheet has two deckled edges. 300 gsm Somerset satin, and if you hold them up to the light there is a somerset watermark under the hind leg of the Zebra on the right. Which is also where my signature goes.

ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on Feb 22, 2017 22:18:01 GMT 1, There are some grey versions, but these all will form part of a small hand finished edition. There are five I have hand finished with spray paints, and are not being sold at the art fair, as it's generally not the type of crowd who'll appreciate them I don't think. You can see those at www.artcave.co.uk

ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on Feb 27, 2017 18:25:07 GMT 1, Thank you Yorkie, the three look so nice altogether like that. A bit of background to the new print... the Zebras have always held a lot of appeal to me, being such striking looking creatures. So I have drawn them with very minimal use of line, allowing the stripes of their bodies to define their shape. So they're created much like you would a graffiti stencil. The buffed aspect above relates to buffing of graffiti (obvs) and I have chosen colours which match the colours used by my City Council to cover over graffiti of one kind or another. I imitated this effect initially for the acetate using a lino roller. So the screen print is in fact a serigraph as I never did get around to spraying this on someones wall, as much as I would have liked to. With these two elements I have created a composition. I don't think it's going to change the world, but the juxtaposition appeals to me, and hopefully some others will enjoy it also. They're now up and available from artcave and at some point the greys finished with Posca pens should appear.

ZANDA - work in progress, by oxfordwelshchap on Feb 27, 2017 19:55:01 GMT 1, Zanda's work is top rate. Great concepts, I have loved the recent releases. I'll stick up a pic of my black gold in a bit but anyone thinking about this you wouldn't be disappointed.

ZANDA - work in progress, by Zanda on Jun 9, 2017 13:18:11 GMT 1, I've created a new small screen printed edition called Article 50 which are now available. I made use of Somerset Satin off-cuts I had to create these mini prints. Each one is 20 x 28 cms, (with two deckled edges) and each one stamped and signed. Probably too much too soon, or too little too late, but here we are. The prints are being shipped in small tubes, but the paper is very soft and they will uncurl (I've tested it). You can pick them up here

Just constructive not critical.. of course unless this was intentional then I apologise
