Donald Trump, by NYart on Apr 13, 2019 18:07:40 GMT 1, Not a good leader isn’t exactly equivocal to genocide. If you feel he’s a bad leader why not try comparing him to Nixon. If anyone thought Mexico was going to write a check for 10 billion that’s a bit nieve. With the improved trade deals he’s reached renegotiating NAFTA if congress cooperated he could’ve used that money for the wall and “Mexico would’ve paid for it”. The German economy didn't thrive because of genocide. The German economy was doing very well under Hitler before the Jewish holocaust started or even before WWII started. In fact, there are a number of similarities between Hitler and Trump (if you ignore the genocide bit). Of course people were naive to think Mexico would pay for the wall. But that didn't stop Trump from repeatedly claiming they would...and people apparently believing him.
“If you ignore the genocide bit”?! Do you hear yourself? That’s insane. That’s what he’s known for, and that’s not something that can be ignored. Without that, he took away guns (Democrats), seized control of property (socialist), was prejudice “republican”.
In order to compare the two you have to minimize the biggest atrocity of the 20th century, boil it down to discrimination. Not a good look.

Donald Trump shares various political traits with Adolf Hitler.
Here's a few...
1. Scapegoating ethnic minorities for his country's problems. 2. Promoting xenophobia. 3. Only wanting certain types of people in the country (think of Trump's "no Muslims allowed" visa restrictions and his attempts at deporting Mexicans who arrived in the U.S. 20 years ago as children). 4. Demonising the 'other'. 5. Lying through his teeth to promote his own agenda. 6. Both tried/try to re-write scientific thinking on major issues. 7. Both had/have an ego the size of planets. 8. Both were/are masters at rhetoric and propaganda. 9. Both tried/try to silence any criticism using lies and 'fake news'.
I may have missed a couple but you get the idea.

The thing is, those are all your perceptions of him. If you believe restricting travel from Muslim majority countries is a ‘Muslim ban’ that’s on you. Why’d he leave out UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey? Silencing criticism is not the same as defending himself from attack. Hitler quite literally silenced critics permenetly, should Trump not stand up for himself? There’s more than one way to see each point you make in Trumps case.

To take the example you called out, when he calls for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," that's not a "perception" that he's calling for a Muslim ban. If you cannot acknowledge that, that's on you.

Donald Trump, by Jaylove on Apr 14, 2019 1:38:02 GMT 1, As long as the job numbers are good and the economy looks good, Americans will accept anything. Yes, even a racist, xenophobic, vile, piece ofs**t in office (and that's putting it lightly). Fairly ignorant comment... What exactly? That people tend to vote based on their current situation or Trump is a pice of shit?

He didn't impose a 'muslim ban' he imposed a ban on the same countries that his far left predecessor had already named as a threat to the US. Don't mistake campaign trail retoric for actual policy. If we were to do that, most Democrats would be in an insane asylum.

Donald Trump, by Deleted on Apr 14, 2019 1:49:42 GMT 1, The economic boom fuelled by tax cuts won't last. What will is the growing deficit as a proportion of GDP. In ten years time immigrants will still be breaching the border. The planet will be burning even faster. The US deficit will be the biggest in history as will the divide between rich and poor. This joker has one agenda. Himself, his family and his peers. He's the Murdoch of politics. Unsurprisingly the latter's media outlets are his greatest supporter. Everyone else is cannon fodder. I have no doubt he'll be re-elected. Of course he will be re-elected, he's bringing back jobs, accelerating the economy. Everyone is better off than they were after 8 years of all talk and no results Barack.

Donald Trump, by NYart on Apr 14, 2019 2:00:21 GMT 1, Going into this election, I more so voted against Hillary than for him. Along with which, being a regular citizen, rather than a career politician, I figured if anyone was able and willing to clean up Washington it’d be him. History will be the judge whether or not he was able to make a difference, and what kind of person he is. But I don’t know how anyone can argue that politicians, in general arent crooked. One politician goes against Trump and claims to support a social justice issue you believe is important? Do you think they really care? We’re all pawns to them, they’ll say anything to get your votes and keep the corporate pay for play rolling in. I’m fairly confident that in 5-10 years history is going to be on his side.

You voted FOR Trump. Why not just own it?
Is this an example of “doing anything to get the votes?”
Two years after taking the oath of office, President Trump has made 8,158 false or misleading claims, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president.
That includes an astonishing 6,000-plus such claims in the president’s second year.
Put another way: The president averaged nearly 5.9 false or misleading claims a day in his first year in office. But he hit nearly 16.5 a day in his second year, almost triple the pace.

I hear “I voted against Hillary not for Trump” a lot these days... You voted FOR Trump. Why not just own it? Is this an example of “doing anything to get the votes?” Two years after taking the oath of office, President Trump has made 8,158 false or misleading claims, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president. That includes an astonishing 6,000-plus such claims in the president’s second year. Put another way: The president averaged nearly 5.9 false or misleading claims a day in his first year in office. But he hit nearly 16.5 a day in his second year, almost triple the pace.
I own it, I’ll almost certainly vote for him again. However if he was up against Bernie in round 1, like should’ve been the case, I may not have. My point was just when the options are limited you pick the best of the worst. I don’t trust Hillary father than I can throw her, and I had hope Trump make some change, and I haven’t been disappointed so far.
If you analyze everything anyone says on a daily basis it’s going to be bad. Whether it’s ignorence, flat out lie, intentionally misleading, or honest mistake people say things that aren’t 100% correct. He’s followed through on more things that are important to me than he hasn’t.. that’s what counts.

Donald Trump, by nex on Apr 14, 2019 2:23:52 GMT 1, 'Don't mistake campaign trail retoric for actual policy.' ... is that the same as Mexico will pay for the wall? 🙄 ... or that windmills cause cancer? 🙄 to try and discredit the environmental agenda Yes, the man says a lot of randoms**t. Also, would you want a windmill next to your house? It might not cause cancer, but your property value will diminish and your comfortlevel of living will drop dramatically. It MIGHT NOT cause cancer 🤦♂️😂🤦♂️

Personally I do not think, even if I tried, that I could muster a 16.5 lie per day average... it scares me to death that the President of the United States can but it is even scarier still that eligible voters lap these untruths up ready and willing to regurgitate them at a moments notice.

Its the “noise form the windmills” that causes cancer according to Trump. Yes. That was really said..... Noise from windmills does NOT cause cancer in fact. (Important to state for his supporters that hadn’t quite made it through their gen-ed courses).

I’m actually slightly left leaning, probably still would’ve voted Trump but wouldnthave been as easy a decision.

I’m actually slightly left leaning, probably still would’ve voted Trump but wouldnthave been as easy a decision. That's a fun fact, because it's your 'group' of swingvoters that actually got Trump elected. Despite the far left media narrative of most of the mainstream media, despite you leaning a bit more centre left, you still voted Trump. That's something that should have CNN and the likes, and the lunatic lefties on this forum, wondering why.
But they don't , eh? They just call you a racist bigot homophobe transphobe immigrant hating nazi.

Donald Trump, by qest on Apr 14, 2019 2:51:30 GMT 1, Many of those are objectively verifiable. To take the example you called out, when he calls for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," that's not a "perception" that he's calling for a Muslim ban. If you cannot acknowledge that, that's on you. And what did he actually do? He didn't impose a 'muslim ban' he imposed a ban on the same countries that his far left predecessor had already named as a threat to the US. Don't mistake campaign trail retoric for actual policy. If we were to do that, most Democrats would be in an insane asylum. Don't worry, I would never take Trump at his word. Of course, as I'm sure you know, that doesn't mean he didn't say it.

It’s implied, the Democrats and the media have clearly labeled Trump supporters as such. That was actually a strategy employed by them during the election exposed through the leaked DNC emails. I used to vote on a case by case basis but nowadays it’s a lost cause, it’s so partisan not much choice but to vote republican down the line. Although I don’t agree with all their stances, the ones that are most important to me they support.
