Secure Hanging Clips, by urbanflik on Jan 27, 2015 22:09:06 GMT 1, Someone posted a few months back a link to a website selling security fixings for hanging frames...I think that they could only be bought in bulk.(?)
I've tried using the search to find the post but can't find it. If anyone knows the URL please let me know!
Appreciate anyone's help.

Secure Hanging Clips, by loother on Jan 27, 2015 22:26:10 GMT 1, I bought some from picturehangers.co.uk, who are slightly more expensive than some others but allow you to buy in any quantity, and have no complaints with their service. I've used Springlocks on a few things now and like them. I think the hang plate method is slightly better than the side-by-side. I particularly enjoy being able to drunkenly shoulder-barge the print outside my downstairs toilet (most of my other things are less easy to drunkenly shoulder-barge, though I'm sure I'd enjoy shoulder-barging them as well) without there being any risk at all of it falling off the wall.

Nice advice on types...not sure if ill risk the drunken shoulder barging if I'm honest...More or a child hanging off the frames deterrent for me!

Secure Hanging Clips, by ABC on Jan 28, 2015 18:14:57 GMT 1, ^^Simple wall hanging hooks are easily man enough to hang the heaviest artwork on a plasterboard wall. I use them all of the time and have had loads hung for years on them, plus I've have just helped a friend with hanging a few heavy works with them. What's also nice is they just hammer in without the need of a drill. Because the nails/fixings are directed at a downwards angle they have very little leeway to move/pull out. www.ukpictureframingsupplies.co.uk/

Really? I've always been afraid to put them up as I didn't think they'd be up to the job in plasterboard. So ive always gone way OTT, and wondered what everyone else did.

Secure Hanging Clips, by Deleted on Jan 28, 2015 20:49:12 GMT 1, I use this at work:
www.picturehangingsystems.co.uk/hanging-systems/avanti/
With a standard hanger, white, with stainless steel cable; and the HT self-locking hook.
Very easy to use. Would recommend.

Secure Hanging Clips, by met on Feb 1, 2015 8:42:41 GMT 1, Opinions will of course differ on the subject, but under "cons" I would include the overall aesthetic appearance of hanging systems and the impression they give.
To my eyes they're tacky, inelegant, and suggest temporariness. More suited to office environments (where there may be a regular movement of staff, and impermanent partition walls which can't or aren't allowed to be drilled) than residential homes.
Even with galleries hosting a new exhibition every three to six weeks, you'll find the more sophisticated ones generally prefer to keep drilling new holes into their walls and then using filler and repainting afterwards. It just looks better, more confident and more professional.

Secure Hanging Clips, by kendo on Mar 1, 2015 20:52:26 GMT 1, I live in a old house with very few straight walls - will a hanging track be flexible enough to follow the undulations of wall?
