Would you buy a gift print with pow coa?, by me on Nov 4, 2014 23:57:57 GMT 1, I have been looking at a Gift print which is signed and dated and comes with a coa. It is unnumbered as it is not part of a run, would this make the print worth less than the numbered edition?
would this put you off buying?

As long as you can confirm with PC that it's legit, I'd think there'd be no difference in value between a numbered print

Thanks for your advice, it is appreciated Email the image of the coa and print to pest control theyll tell you if its legit, is the print dedicated to anyone or are there symbols etc, anything other than the sig, a specific name can make it a bit less valuable imo |

On a serious note, although there is some truth in the above, apart from a 'straight' COA which should be easily confirmed by PC. Provenance is all important. If the Nola/Choose Your Weapon ? or whatever was gifted to the seller then that would appear to be rock solid. Every transaction thereafter, to me makes the provenance a little more tenuous and diluted.
I used to have a signed and stamped gifted blue/green Nola and it's path to me ended up with the provenance being a bit like 'Chinese Whispers' - the price I agreed for it reflected that.

the other points you raise are genuine concerns you should have and solve before you buy the print regardless of whether it's genuine or not. The next buyer will have the same questions and queries that you have however the link to the original owner is one link on so more tenuous.
the reason these prints are not numbered and cannot have a continuous updated COA is the PC say they were gifts and not for resale. Likewise they do not have numbers. Eg this COA is for the print 30/100
But as mentioned that does not mean this piece is not real and not that it is not a good thing to have but do think through all the quirks some of which are beneficial and some not one of which is they tend to be harder to sell.. Personally if it's a first/second BANKSY and your not to sure of your way round and do not know the seller well, how to recognize genuine COA and how to check it's legit with PC I would tend to advise shy away from it.
if you have a pic of the COA drop me a pm and will take a look for you and give an opinion. Eg is it in the legit COA format or is it a form of letter claiming to be a COA. But it will be just that an opinion only PC can verify

I would say I've got more chance getting a free Banksy canvas than pow issuing a coa.
