[My Name is Frank]

Ever throw 35 down a drain hole? It's all relative. Last week I gave away about £100 of prints to my neighbour, they were all priced at 20 - 50 and all unsellable so rather than chuck them in the bin, I gave them to him and fair play he has framed a load. You only need to buy 3 things at 35 which when the joke wears off sit under your bed and you've got 100 tied up under the bed worth nowt as everyone else got bored of the joke too. Better hope then that you have a neighbour with no taste to take em off your hands.

yeah but no ones saying that, this is a canvas for £35 thats actually interesting as opposed to the corporation sponsored dross (dface) that keeps cropping up

I think that's to drastically underrate some of the messages mobstr is getting across, although the barrage this thread is receiving in a similar vein to the insect thread is leaving me slightly queezy.

His messages are wonderfully eloquent, concise and perceptive for sure.
Is he collectible who knows?
Some artists blur the line between something that shoudl live on the streets or transfer to canvas.
Doesnt work for me but the guy is evidently funny and clever!

could say that about any stencil artist really.
its the concept not the execution

technically you could get some spray paint, some blades, some card, cut huh? and spray it on a canvas. But it would just look like your were mental. This has basis.

At £35 I really dont see the problem, its not as if people are being hyped into a print to make it flipable.

I was having an annoyed moment when I posted that!
I still stand by it on a certain level but I did fail to acknowledge the piece when executed against the backdrop of previous street work and in essence the artists raison d'etre so to speak!

Hope that makes some sense?

Cheers FR, I had seen the shades or grey buffer series maybe on Wooster but didnt know who it was by, some great stuff, had to buy the 'do a shit screen print..' rather apt.
the Huh reminds me of Ed Ruscha who did the 27 gas stations book I think in the seventies, and then books of pictures of car parks, every building on sunset strip...he said what he liked was the 'Huh?' reaction that these got.
