As for the colours and the s*it jokes (double meaning there)  when you are presented with a pub that has dark brown door frames and a light brown wooden panelling I would suggest blues reds or yellows would look a tad out of place!

I could see the background colours of pub. I really like your images and colour suits some of the icons but when its by the toilet - my first thought was that it looked like sh*t splash.
You should have done what ever colour you wanted - if there was a colour clash he could have had the wood painted. (and get rid of that artex off the bar ceiling!  )

Pistol hasn't mentioned this but they do have a really nice room upstairs which could possibly be used for small exhibitions. The bars located pretty central in windsor, you can access it easily from Jct 6 M4, and is only about 20-25 mins train journey from London.
