All available from my store: leeellis.bigcartel.com
Also now finished, my latest Tom Waits piece. Flamingo drinking from a cocktail glass. (The after party) Mixed media on canvas 132 x 183cm
http://instagram.com/p/BiBuqLaFBkc
The fifth in a large series based on the lyrics of Tom Waits songs. This is a second version of another piece. I loved it so much, but could see another way to portray the lyrics. The artists is inspired by Waits' unique storytelling and slightly surreal visuals these lyrics create. This particular piece is based on the Waits' song "Jockey full of bourbon" using the lyrics 'Flamingo drinking from a cocktail glass' as the starting block and title for the piece. Various cues from the song are found within the piece through the artist's use of mark making.

Lee Ellis π¬π§ Painting β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Apr 30, 2018 13:56:15 GMT 1, hi Lee. Why destroy them? Can you not just paint over them? Painting over them is less fun and parts of the old pieces come through the new layers. It's a bit of nuisance.
