Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by highly framable on Oct 24, 2012 2:44:42 GMT 1, thanks aj2010!
yes, despite the many pre-order requests (sorrrry, we really would love to but have to be fair to all!) we really don't think there should be any problem for those who try to score the set during release time.
most of our releases takes days, if at all, to sell out...
we're not exactly POW...
still a long long long way to go...
but we're trying!
;D
thanks aj2010!

Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by elwheel on Nov 15, 2012 1:46:45 GMT 1, Arrived today and on first inspection looks pretty good (including test print on back) not really sure about the guillotining/plumbness though (do realise the claims of pride in crudiness though). Will re-examine when mental daughters aren't running around, and post up some pics.

Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by highly framable on Nov 15, 2012 4:15:03 GMT 1, so glad they arrived safe!
and yes, as with all zhao's prints, these are very crude creations!
he wants every print to be his and not some printer's or machines' (though that would've saved us lots (and lots!) of time and money)
hope you like them enough to give them space on your walls!
details on our facebook page. www.facebook.com/pages/Highly-Framable-Gallery/286149344788866?ref=hl

Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by highly framable on Nov 20, 2012 8:15:28 GMT 1, response from one er.. "collector"...
Literal (phonic) translation: Prints Received. Grey Common Watery Rice. Ya! Ya! Ya!
Translation: (prints) Received. Really like them! Ya! Ya! Ya!
YA!!!
For those who are wondering, Ai's not being nice/poite. Ai says what he means.
He didn't feel much (and was pretty harsh) on zhao's "Made In China" till the last iteration which he finds interesting...
He likes the Chairman (but didn't find it "high" enough).
So we are over the moon with the constant positive comments from him on this piece throughout its creation.

A product from the recent news of bombing and violence, ai weiwei's s.a.c.r.e.d. exhibit and joseph heller's catch 22 - zhao's latest is a distillation of a messy tangle of histories and events, unravelled to reveal the true nature of power - a foolish loop.
"An effective expression" - Ai Weiwei commented on the piece. "i love you" - zhao. "i love you first" - ai weiwei
they really should get a room....
screenprint on 65x 45cm 250gsm artisan paper. in 2 variants. more details to come.

Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by highly framable on Jun 4, 2013 16:02:09 GMT 1, first off, a huge thank you to james2g for your comment! we were worried sick that the image did not get any reaction from this board! (except for the kind pms and the "likes" from some of you, thank you so much)
yes it can look terrible to you. zhao wants something as simple as possible to address his feelings about the killings and bombings around europe and us. and how we victimised some yet criminalised others, when everyone is suffering and everyone is guilty.
like a traffic sign, zhao wants the piece to remind us that every victim was a culprit, and every culprit, victim.
and yes, we worship ai weiwei till no end. we are planing a sleepover at ai's place in beijing soon. like school girls around bieber. the man is just so damn inspiring.
but no, true believers are not embarrassed at all. zhao will keep sending work to ai for his criticisms and endorsements. This process has now become a driving force for him.
And if Ai said such wonderful words about the piece, we cannot help but to shout about it.
"la la la!",as ai would say
again, thank you james2g!

Zhao πΈπ¬ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Dr Plip on Jun 4, 2013 18:30:13 GMT 1, Firstly, I like the message and the idea for the image. The soldier could (IMHO!!!) be tidied up a bit to give him more definition though. But Zhao might like it rough.
Have you considered printing multiple versions of the same image on the print, in a Warhol style? It might reinforce the message that violence begets violence, yet we're only really hurting ourselves.
Or maybe the throwing hand could be coming off one side of the image, and reappearing behind the soldier?
Please excuse the rough image. I don't have Photoshop software. I tried cutting and pasting it, but it just ending up f_cking my laptop screen.

You've highlighted another level to the piece though. The same person (you say soldier) is both the culprit and the victim here too.
I like it/them both. Good luck to Zhao

I'm sorry but the meaning is totally lost on me, its a Soldier, throwing a grenade backwards, and its trying to highlight the sadness of the Boston bombings and a man getting his head cut off in London.
Personally I was reading into this I'd read it as our troops abroad are causing extremism at home.
But the soldiers a little lost in the middle of the print there, and poorly painted, was it ever painted on the street?
