Mark Jenkins 🇺🇸 Sculpture • Street Installation, by met on Jan 7, 2015 3:35:57 GMT 1, love Mark Jenkins, looking forward to this too. Anyone remember this piece from Hell's half Acre 'Chrysalis' with the bodies suspended in the tunnels, freaky! (Pic from metro online with a nice shot of Conor Harringtons in the background)
That was a strong installation by Jenkins.
Despite the title Chrysalis suggesting something altogether different, for me these works were reminiscent of sinister scenes from a variety of movies, including the Michael Crichton film, Coma.

Mark Jenkins 🇺🇸 Sculpture • Street Installation, by delano on Jan 13, 2015 19:54:09 GMT 1, As the New Year commences, Mark Jenkins returns to London with his debut solo exhibition at Lazarides Rathbone. Moment of Impact extends the American artist's multidisciplinary practice and thought-provoking interventions into the gallery space for the first time. Jenkins presents a new body of hyperrealist work, encompassing a compelling series of unseen three-dimensional canvases and life-sized figures created exclusively in the UK. Moment of Impact follows the artist's popular appearance in Lazarides' group showcase BRUTAL, in addition to various international exhibitions throughout America and Europe over the past year. Recent highlights include 2014's Miami Art Basel, Nuit Blanche Paris and widely acclaimed shows in LA, New York and Cologne. As well as within formal gallery programmes, Jenkin's provocative interventions can be found in major cities globally, challenging the way in which the public engage and experience urban environments. The upcoming solo exhibition will introduce a new collection of child-sized sculptures constructed in situ alongside mixed-media still life canvases, continuing themes from the artist's distinguished kicked paintings series. Jenkins attempts to remove himself from conceptual ideas associated with creating each artwork, instead focusing on the medium and production process, allowing the finished work to initiate its own relationship with each new space it inhabits.
How can I get a pdf for this show? My emails to the gallery have gone unanswered - again...

Mark Jenkins 🇺🇸 Sculpture • Street Installation, by doyle on Jan 22, 2015 0:16:18 GMT 1, i went along last saturday and it's not too freaky to look at in the daytime in a gallery setting i much prefer the dark off-site/tunnel themed exhibitions but this did allow you to get much closer to the works and appreciate the detail much more. Even in the daylight, the life-size sculpture sitting in the corner on the floor made me take a 2nd look. This would have been great located at their new place on the south bank, i thought, as it is a bit more industrial but otherwise i loved the exhibition, get down there!

Mark Jenkins 🇺🇸 Sculpture • Street Installation, by wunderkammern on Sept 23, 2017 17:53:47 GMT 1,
Hello everybody!
We are waiting for you at Wunderkammern Milan for “Rules of Engagement” by artists Mark Jenkins (USA) and Rero (France).
Mark Jenkins and Rero are back to Wunderkammern and they present the evolution of their artistic research in relation to the concept: Rules of Engagement. The rules of engagement are regulations or directives specifying the circumstances, conditions and limitations under which forces can engage in combat with the enemy. Simultaneously, engagement is also the formal agreement to get married. It is a word that brings together the extremes of emotions, hate and love. Building on these concepts, the artists explore the mechanisms of the formalisation of emotions in our contemporary culture.

Facebook event: www.facebook.com/events/113714412668183/ The collector catalogue is out!
Get in touch with us at: wunderkammern@wunderkammern.net
Quick artists info:
Mark Jenkins (USA, 1970) is famous for his hyperrealistic sculptures of persons, animals and objects placed in the urban space. The sculptures take on positions or create situations which are emblematic and surreal, pushing the passers-by to become real actors. Beyond all the reactions triggered by the installations, such as fear, indifference, confusion or amusement, Mark Jenkins’ art offers an unusual occasion of reflection on social and political themes, as well as on ourselves and our behaviour within society. The artist has collaborated with Greenpeace in 2008 and has participated to important events such as the Nuit Blanche of Paris and the Glastonbury Festival, both in 2014.
Rero’s (France, 1983) artwork is placed in between urban art and conceptual art, and it is based on language. Influenced by sociology and philosophy, the artist reveals his message through sentences or words which are crossed by a thick black line. The line indeed defines Rero’s research on the negation of the image and on self-censorship; it acts as a contradiction and it multiplies the possible interpretations of the message by the observer. Rero has exhibited in important galleries and institutions, among which the Vasarely Foundation (Aix-en-Provence, 2014), the Centre Pompidou (Paris, 2013), the Grand Palais (Paris, 2013) and the La Poste's Museum (Paris, 2012).
Cheers!
