Street Art in Canada, by Ravnur 2020 on Jul 3, 2021 17:39:40 GMT 1,

Came across this piece this morning on the main drag of Edmonton. The piece is not original, but the message is extremely important. The Catholic Church played a major part in the cultural genocide that was the indigenous residential schools in Canada. While most other churches have accepted their involvement and asked for forgiveness, the Vatican doggedly denies culpability or to offer an apology. In the middle of this ongoing unimaginable tragedy it is good to see the street artists making their voice and opinions heard!

Street Art in Canada, by Ravnur 2020 on Nov 27, 2021 13:41:11 GMT 1, Not seen terribly much streetart on the streets of St John's, Newfoundland (yet), but frequently ride past this one. No tag, so do not know who the artist is. I like it as it makes me think about the fate of the Beothuk. The Beothuk were the indigenous people of Newfoundland. The Beothuk were driven to extinction by European settlers, dying from starvation, imported illnesses and clashes with the Europeans.
