Thanks, and I agree, bud. So much so that I thought about taking it down. But, decided to let it stay .

It's the kind of piece that would grow on you and you would miss it if you moved it. I think having it slightly obscured behind a plant would be a great place for it 😀

Nice. Looks great so far! What’s the plan for the ground space in the alcoves? Please excuse my unsolicited opinion, but i think two matching(perhaps high gloss, lacquer white depending on your floors)large pedestals or medium sized end tables(just large enough to properly fill the space) with a differing sculpture on each one, by the same artist, paired with spot/focused lights above, shining down on the sculptures, would look amazing. The alcove walls would look so good with your Whatson pieces coming off the sculptures on the table, with the same exact space of head room from above on the wall, as the distance from the top of the sculptures to the bottom of the framed Whatsons, if that makes sense. Great looking space, bud.

Thanks for that. Sounds ideal. Not wanting to make it too busy but think that would work great.

No worries, it's the door to his private gym only. As he never works out this is probably the safest place in the whole house to display the mat this way. ;-)

Is it signed?
I would love to buy a copy but am reluctant to purchase without first knowing that it is legit.

Is it signed? I would love to buy a copy but am reluctant to purchase without first knowing that it is legit. Sorry still figuring out how to use this site I think I deleted my answer. It's a repro bc I put it together so quickly. The one below is an original Hockney Exhibition poster I found for 25 cents signed at a garage sale with junk from the same 1980s time period. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with other Olympics posters from the same yearfrom other artists (other ones are more likely to be original bc they're not hockney), once you look at a bunch, you can start to see differences (the papers different/older kind of thinner/ coloring is way different from repros) hard to do on the internet but still possible. The original is also a weird size, so many originals are folded near the bottom to fit into standard frames. And I've seen real ones sold with other Olympic posters that by random artists which make it more likely original. Hope that helps.

Inside Art Collectors Homes, by Wearology on Feb 20, 2021 16:51:07 GMT 1, If anyone is looking for a quick, easy and inexpensive way to display their art figurines - this is what I have come up with. It's a foe vintage produce box from the craft shop in the US called Michaels. I took out the dividing shelf that was going vertical and divided the box into 2 sections and re-nailed it going horizontal to make it a shelf instead of a divider, then I added some yellow paint to the shelf to make it blend in and put command strips to the back of the figurines heads to secure them to the back of the box and I am done. The whole project took less than 10 minutes and under $50. DM if you want more details. Thanks - Wear

Every time I see a framed piece not hung, but instead leaning like you have your J&J, I absolutely love it. I’ve recently done the same with a couple of framed pieces. No idea why, but I really dig that look👊🏼
