I would hate to work at POW - it would drive me mad seeing this happen. maybe they should just try to forget about these things / don't look at ebay

You beat me to that. Can't believe the person would pay that for it, especially when there are better and shorter print runs that are signed.
Mug comes to my thoughts. Looks like eBay will soon be inundated.

Grannies already on eBay!!@#$*&%, by RetroCanvas on Oct 28, 2006 21:17:19 GMT 1, Do you think that POW care who's hands the prints fall in. I'm sure some of the members here know them personally enough to know. They are a business so they may think that 'as long as they get their money to keep going' they're happy.
I know my statement is pretty harsh, but business is business.
We all like to think that the majority of the prints go to propper fans that like it as art but come on, the ease of making some money by selling a Banksy would be stupid to turn down in most peoples circumstances.
Don't think POW can do anything unless they start selling the prints for their current value like Lazinc, and I don't think they're going to do that.
I think its a case for them to just sit back and be happy that they are helping a fair few people make some extra cash as the buyers that spend in their thousands can obviously afford it.
THE END

Grannies already on eBay!!@#$*&%, by RetroCanvas on Oct 28, 2006 22:07:04 GMT 1, Thats cool, I would imagine that they are trying hard to avoid the 'scalpers'. It must be hard for them. I have not met any of them but ssume that they are just as passionate about there work as they were before the big Hype. Fair play to them, sounds like they work hard.
Will be interesting to see more of the plans come to life as regards to the buying of 'in-demand' limited prints.

Can I have a ringside seat for the day you make an appointment to go in to POW and explain that to Steff? Anyone who recently met Steff might have heard her say they were doing as much as they reasonably could to prevent that sort of touting and to maximise the chances of the frames being sold to appreciative buyers (i hate to use the word "fans") first

Grannies already on eBay!!@#$*&%, by mido on Oct 28, 2006 23:52:23 GMT 1, POW do care that prints are mainly in the hands (and walls! the clue is in the title - pictures on walls....) of real fans, but I imagine that there is a point at which it is far too much hassle to get involved any further (e.g. keeping the database of original buyer is cool, but they don't update it and can you imagine the hassle if they did! there would then become an admin company rather than a screen printer / seller)

Grannies already on eBay!!@#$*&%, by Run Pig Run on Oct 29, 2006 7:58:44 GMT 1, I would never put a signed banksy print on the floor with four skanky glasses holding it down. 2 grand profit if he sells that.
