Just got an email from White Cube that Antony Gormley is releasing a print for charity and it's a really nice image.

"White Cube and Antony Gormley are proud to release the edition Together (2020), with all of the proceeds going to charities which are supporting people suffering the physical, financial and emotional consequences of the lockdown.

Hmmm... Small, big(ish) edition, and quite expensive.

Might have been better if it was cheaper, but an even bigger edition, like 1000... so affordable for more people.

Maybe the gravure process is too labour intensive for thousands to be made but I’m no expert.

In the video he’s holding one without a border but perhaps that’s the original?

Tend to agree with you. Still think there will be a big interest in this and it will sell out quickly - more down to WCs marketing and the charity aspect. The counter editions Gormley charity print (Free) from last year - admittedly more expensive, is a better size and image IMO - was also for a children's charity if not mistaken? I'd buy it personally if I had the funds.

I don't know why this forum is so obsessed with prints, posters, and ephemera. So much original artwork out there for much less.

True... but also depends on the artist. Not many here can buy Gormley originals (Or Banksy, Emin, Hirst, Kaws, etc... the list is long these days!).

Heard from a reliable source they had over 1000 applications to purchase this on the first day. Not quite Harland Miller numbers, but pretty good!

As per the other release and the long, in-depth thread and many times this issue was commented on, there is no tax applicable within the UK due to its nature as a fundraiser for charities.

I think you're mistaken.  It is the charity that doesn't pay tax, not the people who make the prints.

Has anybody on here who lives in the UK bought this?

Perhaps they could clarify if VAT was added or not. 

The 3D fundraiser print had VAT added in the UK

The HM had no VAT - I didn’t get one unfortunately but a friend did and said it was £5,000
