I think Gormlwy's work is fabulous.
When I took my kids to the cloud, we also went up on the roof to see the figures accross the London skyline. They were terrific.

Each of the five sculptures are life-size vertical body-forms.

Thanks for posting, these sculptures look fantastic - I'm a big fan of his work.

Good idea - if there are forum members close to the other sites it would be really cool if they also could upload some pics! I wish he would do some work over here in Northern Ireland as there are plenty of fantastic locations for these type of sculptures!

Recollect there is an early Gormley in Derry - three figures on the city walls. Noticed one figure (close to the theatre outside the Foyleside shopping centre) standing when I was last there a month ago. They date back to the late 80s so have been there some time - no idea if the other two figures are still around. Agree that there are some great spots over here for some new work - up the north Coast @ mussenden comes to mind....

I live near one of these. 
Kimmeridge is my local surf spot. Didn't know these were being done, went for a surf before work the other day and saw the sculpture. Really adds to the already stunning landscape. The list above says it is based at Clavel tower (which is on top of the cliff) it's not though, it's based on the rocks by the shoreline. I heard it's because it might make people think it's someone about to jump. 
Where it's based now is better I think. I thought it was someone checking the surf when I turned up.

i will try and get a couple of shots next time I'm down there.

There was a great documentary a while back about his sculptures and particularly those one on the beach, and the fight to make them permanent. Very interesting chap.

Interestingly, last week I went to photograph it from the ground level as the Martello Tower wasn't open until this weekend. I noticed in previous pictures from the web and the ones I took the sculpture appeared to be on a plinth that was temporarily bolted down. My in-laws told me that during the week it had scaffold surrounding it. Seeing it yesterday it appears to be now be on a permanent looking solid concrete base. My feeling is this one will stay beyond the year ... at least I hope so.

"Sir Antony Gormley Kimmeridge Bay statue topples into sea"



A life-sized cast iron sculpture by Sir Antony Gormley that stood on rocks at a Dorset beauty spot has toppled over into the water following a storm.

Part of a commission entitled "Land", the sculpture at Clavell Tower, Kimmeridge Bay, was created to mark 50 years of UK building conservation charity Landmark Trust.

At the time Gormley said the artworks were "catalysts for reflection".

The figure was supposed to remain in place until May 2016.

It ends with the pieces going rusty.

I caught some of it and it was v good. Will watch the rest on catchup. Those figures he did on top of the buildings and out at sea were very eerie. He does like to plaster is knob a bit too much.

Thought provoking and deep, he totally immerses himself in his art,  just plain bloody brilliant.

I managed to get down to the South Bank to see Event Horizon, such a powerful body of work, but his latest "Critical Mass" is simply stunning. He is one amazing artist. Great Documentary.

I am listing this here on behalf of a friend, honestly!!. He is not on here, nor does he have a well known auction site account. There is one on that well known auction site but it is not his, nor is it mine but its from the  same run.

Basically he has an Antony Gormley 'Feeling Material', etching, 2014, signed, titled and numbered from /100 in pencil verso, on Somerset Cotton rag 300gsm paper, 30.5 x 27cm sheet. (that lot was taken from the auction site not mine.

He is happy to take offers, which I can relay or pass his details on. It has full COA and is in it's original folder (criminal I know) so mint/as new.
