Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by Agent Provocateur on Jan 7, 2013 12:27:19 GMT 1, Got this email from Polly Morgan last week and thought I'd see if I could helpβ¦
-
Dear All,
I hate asking anyone for money at the best of times but am about to do so at the worst...so I'm sorry about that. However, it's also when most dogs are handed in to Battersea Dogs Home so I'm running the Brighton Half Marathon to raise money for them as I can't afford to adopt any more! If anyone can help me raise my modest target of Β£5000 I will be very grateful and very alarmed as I'll actually have to go through with it. I am sending this out to vast swathes of people so please noone feel any obligation to respond - just delete and forget all about it. If you do decide to give - you can do so here:
www.justgiving.com/Polly-Morgan
REASONS TO DONATE: If you love dogs - you will be easing their purgatory a little If you love me - you will help make me look like a morally upstanding citizen If you hate dogs - your money will go to the cats If you hate me - make me run 13.1 miles - it will be two hours of hell
-
I've got this Spike test spray on card (24"x13" approx.) for Β£45 plus P&P, if someone's interested wiz me an email (aphq@aprovocateur.co.uk) or a PM and we can sort out the donation incl. P&P. Then I can dispatch Spike to his new owner.
AP10 Pedigree Chum (card) by aprovocateur, on Flickr
The canvas edition sold out but I don't remember offering the card edition of 3 (this was the test spray), so if there's more people interested there's a maximum of 3 more available.
Or if you'd just like to donate (link above) I'm sure some furry creatures would appreciate it.

Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by elevenspots on Mar 25, 2013 21:13:06 GMT 1, Last weeks was a real eduction - still available on the inlayer
What Do Artists Do All Day? - 1. Norman Ackroyd
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01rd35q/What_Do_Artists_Do_All_Day_Norman_Ackroyd/
'I don't have any grand plan, I just go where instinct takes me.' - Norman Ackroyd.
Norman Ackroyd is one of the country's most celebrated landscape artists. Born in Leeds in 1938, he attended the Royal College of Art in the 1960s. After experimenting with pop art, he gradually turned to his first love, the landscape, and over the last thirty years he has documented some of the most remote corners of Britain. Norman tells the story of his artistic journey and gives a unique glimpse into his working life. Filmed in the converted London warehouse where he lives and works, we follow Norman as he embarks on the final stages of one of his monochrome prints. From delicate work on the copper plate, through preparation of the aquatint resin that brings shade and texture to the image and the application of the acid which etches the final picture from the copper, the film captures each stage of the process behind his craft. At the end of the day, without knowing how the piece will turn out, Norman passes it through the printing press, revealing for the first time his latest work, capturing the atmospheric craggy cliff of Muckle Flugga in the Shetland Islands.

Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by Coach on Mar 29, 2013 17:13:18 GMT 1, Polly Morgan is part of a new show, The Nature Of The Beast.
26th April to 30th June
This exhibition brings together a diverse range of contemporary artists, who through their work, confront and challenge our attitudes towards the natural world, and in particular, the animal kingdom.
Humankind has long been fascinated by animals, who in turn, have been subjected to research, collection, categorisation, documentation, display and experimentation. Each of the artists within the exhibition creates works which involve an intensive scrutiny of animals and nature as well as a critical engagement with the ways in which we have attempted to understand and control the natural world.
Both Tessa Farmer and Polly Morgan have created brand new works.

Β£5 / Free to ICA Members Join us for a lunchtime talk with artist Polly Morgan.
A love of animals and a desire to preserve them led Polly to learn the skills of taxidermy, and she's been creating eerily beautiful still lives ever since. Instead of placing her creations in their natural habitats, Polly juxtaposes them with unusual and unexpected surroundings, playing with scale and perception to force viewers to see the animals as if for the first time.
British born, Polly has been working and living in London since 2005. She's also had her work exhibited alongside the likes of Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons, as well as solo shows in London and America.
