Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by Ruggs on Apr 15, 2011 11:21:09 GMT 1, Ever since Polly Morgan's first taxidermy piece was exhibited at Zoo Art Fair in 2005, which lead to an invitation to show alongside Banksy at his gallery, she's been taking the art world by storm with her beautiful sculptural works.
Her well-received solo show at Haunch of Venison in London last September catapulted her into the forefront of the British art scene, and her work is now extremely sought-after and has been purchased by high-profile collectors and celebrities.
We're excited to be working with Morgan on our most recent publications: Two limited edition lithographs.
Both titled 'Myocardial Infarction' and depicting a group of Love Birds feeding from a human heart, the prints follow the concept of Morgan's work, focussing on the utilization of death, whilst referencing the drawings of 19th century illustrators such as Edward Lear and John James Audubon.
The colour print, an edition of 50, is available for a limited period at the pre-publication price of Β£335 inc. VAT, and the more exclusive black and white piece, an edition of just 10, for Β£560 inc. VAT. See the works in more detail and buy online from today.
The colour piece will be debuted alongside other new works from Eyestorm artists at our stand at the London Original Print Fair next week, which takes place at the Royal Academy of Arts between Tues 19th and Thurs 21st April.

Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by Deleted on Apr 15, 2011 13:58:06 GMT 1, I dont think its a bad thing to be fair. She needs an income, and she cannot flood the market with originals and mini additions all the time as it would devalue her work. So from a money making point of view it makes sense to me. And would keep the prices or her taxidermy work where they should be imo.

Polly Morgan π¬π§ Taxidermy Artist, Sculptures, For Sale, by Coach on May 19, 2011 21:40:12 GMT 1, Polly Morgan has a show called "Burials" opening 3rd June, at
Workshop arte contemporanea Dorsoduro 2793 / A 30123 Venice
From the email:
"Workshop Arte Contemporanea is pleased to announce the opening of βBurialsβ, the first solo exhibition by the London-based artist, Polly Morgan, in Italy. Described by Charlotte Philby in The Independent as βBritartβs hottest propertyβ, Polly Morgan is at the very forefront of modern taxidermy. She has contributed to a shift in public perception that has taken βthe art of preparing, stuffing and mounting the skins of animals with lifelike effectβ to places never dreamed of by its original Victorian practitioners. The vitrines are still there but little else remains. Birds are taken out of their natural habitat and are reassembled, often in mass, creating sculptures of astonishing and often disquieting beauty. Workshop Arte Contemporanea would like to thank The British Council and Bisol Desiderio & Figli for their support of this exhibition"
Would be great if Italian forum members would share some pics, if they are going. I hope its a great sucess for Ms Morgan.
