JD , by lesroy on Jan 4, 2007 9:33:17 GMT 1, Thanx lads,
Mike, I just managed to raid the "bay" aswell... got one from one of the form members here incidently. A guy called "ambasidor" although I haven't found him yet!
The print arrived this morning and I have to admit I was more than suprised at how great it looks in the flesh. I thought there may be too much white paper but infact its stunning... the best closeup detail I have seen from any of the POW prints.
I couldn;t afford FF in the end but I think this print actually does more for me than the FF anyway
What sort of framing plans do you guys have... I haven't seen one framed yet!
I'm thinking of float mounting it on some black board so it highlights the deckled edge and maybe another chunky white box frame?
Lets get the ideas flowing!

JD , by mammal2 on Jan 4, 2007 13:45:52 GMT 1, Have no real idea about how to frame this one just yet. I like the idea of a silver boarder and simple white or cream mount like the Grannies that we saw in the otther thread over the dinnertable. JD is easily my fav print of this year. Looks amazing in the flesh, your right lesroy. Trollies up next. I hope to hell this lottery system works in my favour, otherwise its off to ebay for me. noooo

Sorry to interupt your chat but I'm trying to contact Lesroy.
I've tried sending a PM but there must be a problem so thought I'd try here instead. It's regarding the possibility of swapping my FF for your Save My Soul so when you get a minute could you PM me please.
Cheers, Tim

JD , by danvnuk on Jan 4, 2007 15:23:36 GMT 1, My JD is in the framers as we speak - should be collecting it towards the end of next week.
After spending 30 mins in there holding up various colours mounts and bits of frames to it - I opted for a cream coloured mount to contrast against the white paper - The mount will overlap the deckled edges by a few mm (call me a Phillistine, but I prefer it looking neat and squared off) Ive gone for a matt black square wooden frame.
I'll post a pic when I collect it -
No idea where Im gonna hang it - it's a monster. I Love it though, it has a "Tattoo" look about it.
Oh If anyones interested it's costing me £109 - thats for according to the receipt "hinged onto museum board, mount onto Barley, and Frame - float glass"

danvnuk, where did you get it framed ?

I work in London and in the past have used a Framers in Holborn called Newgate Gallery(see the thread 'Get your Banskys out for the lads' for a photo of my Flags framed by them) They seem really good and fast (2 day turnaround ) but it's getting the framed print home on the tube and then the Fenchurch St line - Fun!
Soooo, due to its size, my JD is being framed by an altogether more local Framer to where I live - Chartwell Gallery in Southend.
www.chartwellgallery.co.uk/
Oh, and Its just normal float glass in mine.
Never used them before, but they've been in business for 27 years - so they must be good I imagine- and the people in there were incredibly helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. Guess I'll find out when I pick it up next week ;D

JD , by lesroy on Jan 6, 2007 10:11:30 GMT 1, Im thinking of either a white/cream mount in a white chunky box style frame... very clean leaving the image to do all the talking.
or
floating it on a black mount board with only an inch or so showing to get the full deckled edge on show, then into another chunky but black box style frame.
Not sure... can other peeps post their ideas... I just cannot wait to see some of them!

JD , by smashedhat on Feb 8, 2007 13:35:14 GMT 1, My JD gets back from framers this week (touch wood). It didn't cost as much to frame as I was thinking as my friendly framer reckoned it didn't need UV glass being monchrome and all. I agreed being a cheapskate and all.
it was 150 or so i think, hard to say because I got a load done at once.
Will post some pixs once it's back if anyone is interested

As posted on page 20 of the 'Get Your Banksy's out for the Lads' thread.
Cost me £109 to have it framed, from Chartwell Gallery in Southend.....I can't recommend that Framers enough - did a great job, really took their time finding out what I wanted - and were very nice.
