Its appalling! Do you suppose he went into Andipa and saw their Copper at 30k so he listed his for a go at 25k (or 27.5k) I would think if I were ever lucky enough to own a Copper and wanted to sell it for that kinda money I would at least draft up a nice ad with proper pictures!

The 'That is Fucking Expensive' Thread, by tomhills1 on Apr 7, 2007 16:49:02 GMT 1, i've already said this in another thread but i put here too. i've seen this actual print, it's the same fella i bought my grin reaper from. the story goes, that there were ten displayed at the turf war exhibition with the words "f*ck the police" over them. didn't andipa only have a regular signed rude copper up for £26000?
i think if that turf war history is true, it really sets this print apart and it is not only iconic but pretty unique too.
oh, i reframed my grin after i bought it too.

not a bad collection IMO but money talks to some people.

The 'That is Fucking Expensive' Thread, by monkeypuzzle on Apr 7, 2007 22:03:38 GMT 1, It may seem like crazy cash, but then again it wasnt too long ago ( well just less than a year) a rude copper breaking the 1K mark was seen with a radip intake of breath and some teeth sucking at the high price of art, the 9.2K signed BME tonight, 6.5K might be quite close to the mark. The strange thing about it all is that the price for a monkey queen and queen vic have remained virtually stable for the last 8 months. Anyone got a bombhugger they want to sell? ;D

By the way what is the hot bed you are talking about... Good night!

The 'That is Fucking Expensive' Thread, by adrscib on Apr 8, 2007 10:22:44 GMT 1, and with all due respect you collectors (especially the ebay sellers) dont realise (that most of the buyers are art galleries!) so basically they buying a print "cheaper than an art gallery" they keep it for a couple of months and resell from their shops for a tidy profit! The gap between ebay and art galleries should stop. Why should I sell a print on ebay for 100 quid when i know that somewhere in the world someone might be willing to pay 150!

The 'That is Fucking Expensive' Thread, by BME on Apr 8, 2007 11:17:34 GMT 1, "the gap between ebay and art galleries should stop".
Art gallery prices are higher because they need to pay for premises/ web sites/ staff etc. People are willing to pay more because they are able to see the work in the flesh before buying and because they know the seller won't simply disappear with their cash. You might be able to sell your Grin Reaper through a gallery for £6,500 but you would also pay at least 20% commission so the actual amount you received would be considerably less.
You seem to want to enjoy the best of both worlds- super-high prices and ebay- I'm afraid its not a very good combination.

I'm not complaining about your listing - you're entititled to list the print at any price you want. I was just pointing out why there is, and always will be, a difference between ebay and gallery prices.
good luck with the sale though

firstly hello, at least you are who you say you are. the comment about your country was at the least sarcastic, at worst ignorant so i think i owe you an apology. i didn't mean anything towards malta as a nation, just that i was surprised to see his legend cast that far. so, i'm sorry.
the real issue with your listing is the one that has been taken up by some other members and that is a: the price and b: the fact you've raised your minimum bid to £6500.
i see your point about the value of these new morons prints and that you feel the grin is worth more, but surely any print is only worth what someone will pay for it? if you put it up on an open auction you will see what it's worth. if enough people want it and are prepared to pay good money, you will have a sale and a very prosperous one at that.
you only have to see how much a signed bomb middle england went for over the weekend to see what an open auction can do. if you want to sell at the price you're asking, why not put it on a buy it now?
at the end of the day it's your prerogative, i just feel you're wasting your time the way you're going about it and any account with 0 feedback is goin to attract attention as that is how the rip-off merchants operate, unfortunetly.
i would love you to sell at that price as i own one too but please, be realistic and know your market and you will have so much more success.
good luck anyway fella.
