New Banksy this weekend?, by Strange Al on Aug 28, 2007 8:39:54 GMT 1, Nearest Tube is bethnal green. Though it's a long way from the station - at least 20+ minute walk. Bus is the best way. I'm right by there and will take some pics tomorrow. Nearest tube is Mile End
Ratpack +1 from me also for posting this find. Good to see Mr B back at work in London (assuming of course it's him, which seems to be the concensus).
I think Mile End and Bethnal Green are pretty much equidistant.
I'm going via there now to take some high res pics. I'll post them after work, if someone else hasn't done so already by then.

Mile End is easist as there's a good bus to it. Get the 277 through Vicky Park and get off at the first stop by the Empress of India.

New Banksy this weekend?, by Strange Al on Aug 28, 2007 10:21:58 GMT 1, Ratpack - nice work on the extra pics.
I've just had a look at the piece myself. It's just awesome!
I think we're pretty safe to assume Banksy's back! Aside from the image itself, on closer inspection the finish is just typical Banksy. Obviously you can never be 100% sure, but this looks pretty much spot on.
Incidentally, if people are interested it's painted on the side of Namo, a Vietnamese Restaurant. No immediate relevance in terms of placement.

New Banksy this weekend?, by Curley on Aug 28, 2007 10:24:42 GMT 1, you cant beat a cheap knob gag. This piece is stunning to say the least. The genius thing is the newspapers cant print it and the council will have to remove it.
Im not sure it will last the day as the council were looking at it when i got there this morning.

New Banksy this weekend?, by absyrd on Aug 28, 2007 11:01:32 GMT 1, I think Banksy saw an early screening of Superbad and was inspired. If you see the movie, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Anyhow... great piece. This one really has dimension/depth.

I think it's also a bit of a public misconception that Banksy always tagged his pieces. I'm sure I thought that too. Though if you flick through any of his books you'll notice that the majority of works aren't actually tagged.
