Also, where did you get the spacers from?
I have to say I think it looks amazing... as did the Jack and Jill in that same frame Congrats! (Great to see the first one framed too!)

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by trowel on Nov 1, 2006 20:33:08 GMT 1, Was in Habitat today pricing up that frame you're using Curley. I think it's the 70x50cm at only £25.
Although that sounds too small for the LA prints (565x765mm - except Applause of course...) the frame is designed for a 70x50cm print to fit in the centre with a clear border of about 8cm?
That design is available up to 100x70cm which could look nice for Flying Copper...

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Curley on Nov 2, 2006 16:28:56 GMT 1, I'm sure that Habitat frame i have used is actuallually the one for the 70x50 as the idea was for there to be a large clear border (10cm) surrounding the print (think thats the whole idea). Basically thay are outsized. The 100 x 70 would be bigger again. There's about a cm spare all round. The spacers were made of the best scrap cardbord box i could find in the house :-)
Sorry no link as i went in and bought it, hope i may need another 5.
Pworks loving that frame to...
Now back to my refresh button.

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by RBK on Nov 2, 2006 23:10:24 GMT 1, The frame was quite expensive, and then after all the archival stuff (UV glass, spacers & floating mount) the grand total was $350 USD.
I'm of the school that if you are going to frame something, you should do it right.

Is that the CLIPS frame from Ikea? I've been looking for one that size, but seems like they don't make it anymore??
And by the way, that's simply the best way to frame a Love Rat.
(I just HAD to!!) ;D

Still, with market forces what they are, it's probably worth 10x what it was before it went into the thing - even though it is sadly under-appreciated

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by lesroy on Nov 3, 2006 8:34:12 GMT 1, trowel sorry but I have to make a comment... please read the framing section in this forum... you MUST get another frame Silk Screen prints really shouldn't go in a clip frame... a normal frame will only cost a tenner if you're worried about price but clip frames are the devil for two main reasons!
They squash the image against the glass... any heat or moisture will make your £1500 / £2000 print stick to the glass!
They apply uneven pressure to the print, because of the clips and will cause it to riplle the paper.
Please please get better frame...

Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by trowel on Nov 3, 2006 14:25:19 GMT 1, I know I know... It's on my list of things to frame properly - but my original Roy of the Rovers artworks (value ~£30 each...) somehow nipped ahead... c'mon Racey!
I've taken it out a few times to check and there's no warping or sticking at all - it's only a PVC sheet rather than glass so it doesn't suffer from the cold. But thanks for the advice and I promise to sort it out soon!

The only person that could really give you a true idea of the reasoning behind this print is Ben at POW who would have printed it. I have bin hearing about a few more different Banksy prints that were done in strange colours and on weird and wonderful paper but not many seem to see the light of day shame really
