Been a big fan of seeing his whatepaste work throughout the years in Ldn.- I know some people say he bites Bast, Rae, Dain, Faile etc. but I really love his stuff! This will be getting framed soon.

Cheers buddy, I’m really pleased with it and can’t wait to get it up on the wall. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on his stuff, Not sure if you saw my snippet in my original post regarding this, I’m aware he has a very similar style, and also further aware people often say he’s straight up biting Bast. I feel he’s more grouped within the same genre and style rather than straight up ripping him off. Of course it would be ridiculous to not consider them similar (wheatepaste, collage, cartoon characters, and consumer culture) . I would also love a Bast piece, but unfortunately out of my price range now. For me, over the last 15years (maybe longer?) Seeing Ace’s work in the streets of Ldn really reminds me a resonates with some of the good days of graffiti and street art. If I had grown up in Brooklyn and seeing Basts work more often maybe I’d feel the same way about him.

Always happy to chat through difference of opinions here, that’s what creates dialog here.

I had the pleasure of meeting Russell Herron at the Art Car Boot Fair yesterday and added some more original drawings to my collection as well as some merch.

There were only eight of the mini drawings (on 15.5cm x 23cm paper) available so I was very pleased to get a set of three to frame together.

Congrats! You must have been ahead of me in the q. I was lucky enough to pick up the penultimate small cardboard portrait. Really was the highlight of the fair. Russell Herron is very talented - the drawings are great

Glad to hear you got one. 🙌 I was lucky to be on the guest list so didn’t have to queue and was in at exactly 12pm (as we weren’t let in early). 😅

I enjoyed the rest of the fair seeing different artists I wouldn’t necessarily look out for. Will definitely go again next year.

I've been going to the Art Car Boot Fair for a few years now, and also really like the atmosphere and opportunity to talk to the artists. This year, I bought another Juno Calypso to add to my print of hers from last year. I also managed to secure a unique polaroid - really like the profoundly sinister/hyper-feminine/humorous nature of her work.
