Not new buys per se but newly back from MFM. I’ve only managed to hang one to date as each has different fixings, 2 of which I’m unfamiliar with/lack confidence in using so I’m waiting for a friend who’s more DIY savvy than me to give me some help with them. 

The first two are framed with museum glass but the latter AR70 rather than museum glass. This is largely due to where it is located.

Finally, my Welcome Mat by Banksy and Love Welcomes.

I share this one with some trepidation because I’m not sure how it’ll be received. I totally understand the mixed views regarding displaying the tag but I do think it might help stimulate conversation and helps provide some context for the piece. I’m mindful that a lot of my friends/visitors don’t share our enthusiasm/love after all. I also think that the way that the zip is displayed off the ‘e’ helps balance it in the frame. 

The frame wasn’t my first choice to be truthful but the one I chose initially was discontinued when Gary went to order it. It’s not good per se but rather a sort of champagne with tones of bronze almost. The sides are “wood”. The backing is grey. Hard to photograph and the light wasn’t great but hopefully you get an idea of what it looks like. 

I feel like I’m trying to justify my choices but I’m happy with it and, as I have to live with it, I guess that’s what’s truly important. I mean that without trying to sound like an arse!!

It's by Palestinian artist Khaled Hourani. The original painting was displayed at the Walled Off. This is the poster they sold at the hotel.
