Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by ABC on Mar 31, 2007 18:22:55 GMT 1, We were talking about it on the lightside a few months back but I know only a few people venture on both forums, still a good bit of PR for Mr B

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by pastiepie on Apr 1, 2007 10:15:40 GMT 1, I would be interested to know if Banksy actually stencilled it or if they just took a photo at Brighton and had the props staff do it. Is the real kissing coppers over 10ft high?

Is the real kissing coppers over 10ft high? A well respected member of the ebay forum work in graphics and effects for a living, he did much of the effects for children of men, and the obvious kissing copper insertion, question is, was he responsible for the GWB in Wimbeldon ( shite chickflick from 2 years ago???

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by ABC on Apr 1, 2007 22:44:03 GMT 1, Its good to see he is making it into the films too, all PR is a bonus Im sure. What was good about the Kissing Cops is they were in a place owned buy a ultra rich Art collector set in the future which was interesting as they are making a statment that Banksy is the future in art.

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by ratpack on Sept 25, 2006 10:18:13 GMT 1, Went to see the above film last night. Set in and around London in 20 years or so and whilst watching it I had a suspicion that a Banksy was only a matter or time.
Then out it pops - slap bang in the middle of a scene set in Tate Modern. They have a massive concrete wall in there with the kissing coppers on.
Anyone have any news on this? is it just a reproduction for the film or was it commissioned?

It's a reproduction for the film, speak to moffla over on ebay group, think his company did it. he's a long time collector and banksy cohort.

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by alcat82 on May 20, 2008 0:40:14 GMT 1, Strictly speaking can this be called an original if the plan is to sell it? The form it is in now is only because someone restored it.

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by blacksy on May 20, 2008 14:48:58 GMT 1, i took some pics on my phone - can't transfer them at work as i dont have the cables etc - but will happily text them to someone else if they can upload em.
There were two power cables running in there, and a humnming noise emitting from the box. A guy emerged with curly hair, looking rather sheepish, and didnt want to talk to me!

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by imbue on May 26, 2008 13:24:37 GMT 1, Well the box has been removed and at first glance Banksy's Kissing Coppers are fine...
On closer inspection it has been resprayed with a new stencil and tagged with 'FACSIMILE' instead of the original Banksy tag.
Lame in my opinion.

Banksy "Kissing Coppers" Brighton Wall , by mammal2 on May 26, 2008 13:35:30 GMT 1, So the original has been taken and a new one put up. I don't get this at all. The original KC has been gleamed from the wall and placed onto another medium. LAME. It is no longer a Banksy in my opinion. Its just a traced image with the original spray intact on a canvas. The whole point with a Banksy is placement and application. Whoever, buys this shit is an idiot. Why not just remove the wall. That I would'nt really like, but could understand.
I have never seen this and do not live all that far away. I fancied a weekend down there and maybe a few in that bar and a quick look see. Now, I could not give a monkey. This if I understand what has happened is no longer a Banksy. Its as shit as the copies in Spitalfields market. At least they are photos of a real Banksy. This is Jack Smith from Essex aka Facsimile who is good at tracing and removing street art to sell to fat bastards with more money than sense. Why not go pick up an original from Laz for less. He still has a good few. Contact Holly, she has shit loads. I do not get this.
