Penny - New dollar bills, by Baby Dave on Mar 30, 2011 20:59:37 GMT 1, The Angelica Stars is so striking in the flesh. The photos dont really do it justice. My Departure of the Witches is growing on me more and more.

Penny - New dollar bills, by Natas on Apr 1, 2011 12:30:12 GMT 1, I will get in the queue, if anyone has any of the single notes from the previous releases and wants to sell drop me a PM. Also interested in getting Beaten City and yes I know there are several Penny's on ebay but looking to pay less than a grand for a Beaten City.

Try contacting Penny directly through the email address on his web site he often has some special items for Friends and some people who contact him, these are items he does not put up on his site for sale. He is a real nice bloke to deal with and you may be lucky.

Penny - New dollar bills, by Natas on Apr 1, 2011 14:40:44 GMT 1, Any advice on where to get those acrylic blocks to display the single note pieces? Lots of places do photo sized but wondered if there was a place that you could buy off the shelf note sized ones. either online or in store.

Penny - New dollar bills, by jusdeep on Apr 1, 2011 14:55:44 GMT 1, I really wouldn't display these in plastic blocks if I were you. Not only will you have issues with light, fadingโฆ you may also damage the layers of sprayed paint.
I think I saw there was an issue with spray cracking on someone's during framing? If I had one of penny's notes I wouldn't want it to be sandwiched between two blocks of unarchival, light magnifying acrylic. Obviously it's totally up to you, it's yours to do with as you wish - but just be aware.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with this completely I was the person who was unfortunate enough to have the Penny Lexine damaged during framing and also with the ones sandwiched in a perspex / acrylic block.
With the first Lexine Lost I really thought about the framing and went for it to be floated behind museum glass, however whatever was used to fix the note was probably behind the cracking of the paint (fortunately Penny did a new one for me, a true gentleman and top bloke ;D ) if you use ANYTHING to "fix" one of these notes in position you have to consider how easy will it be, to be removed without damage if that is required.
The other Penny notes in the acrylic block was bought off ebay from a friend of Pennys and the framing (encasing) was done by Mr Framerman, who if anybody really knows anything about framing and fading of art it should be him/them. The notes are not fixed with anything and are loosely encased in a specially designed space that does not press against the notes in anyway yet holds them perfectly without any movement. Also acrylic is used to encase some very collectible and extremely valuable coins and notes by specialist coin grading as the best medium to preserve them against harmful light and other elements, acrylic can be manufactured to virtually eliminate all harmful UV light.
I now have some more of Pennys notes and myself would not consider any other way of preserving and displaying these beautiful but delicate pieces of art.
