Always makes me laugh the predictably low estimates auction houses place in catalogues and looking at Bonhams LA sale one, it's almost an insult to people's intelligence. If there's a signed LIITA available anywhere between those two estimates, I'll take one please. Oh, and lets not forget the buyers fee of something like 25% on top of the hammer price up to £25,000 and ARR of 4%!

Why is it an insult?

Its a good thing surely, for everyone?

And doesn't the low estimate have to be the reserve? or did i make that bit up?

I see the auction on this has been ended early - just after 9pm tonight, whilst at a bid of £6.5k. Anyone on the forum lucky enough to bag it ?? In an e-mail to the owner with a few Q's, he indicated he had been offered over £10k !!

Probably by a dealer or gallery that deals with in the secondary market. Watch the gallery websites for a new LIITA with a hefty premium.

I am selling my limited edition Love is in the Air. Am gutted to be having to let this go but need the funds for other things now. This was originally purchased from Green Leaf Bookshop in Bristol and i bought it around 2004/2005 from the original purchaser. Comes with full certificate of authenticity. Not signed and from an edition of 500. This was professionally framed straight after purchase. Am very reluctant to see this go so serious offers only please. Need to put this in the for sale section. Looks nice. One comment though. That mount doesn't look acid free to me as the edge has gone orangey, brown. That would worry me.

Thanks for the move - re the mount I was assured that this was framed to gallery standards.

Most of the time gallery standards= maximizing profit = cheaper framing.

Just looked through some of my mountboard sample books and don't think coloured centre boards are conservation standard? Fairly new to this framing lark so am happy to be proved wrong? Minimal risk though if the outer coatings are acid free.

No! That's definitely discolouration of an ordinary white card mount, not acid free. Acid free mounts are totally white and are not supposed to discolour in that way.

and yet the print itself shows zero 'bleeding' from this dubious mount, i'd say panic over - it's clean, only wish i could afford to make an offer.
