Bought these a while back. In Europe they go for 555€ for the unsigned set, 650$ in the U.S .Think they look fantastic! Just contact skateroom directly if you want more info I think. They only had one signed set left when I checked but thought those were a bit expensive as well since the only difference is a signature on the side you wont be displaying anyway. Like the whole concept of their operation as well. You can read all about it on their website. They are based in Brussels

It is with great excitement that StolenSpace Gallery presents the new solo showcase by Belgian artist, ROA.

Peering from secluded alleyways, or creeping across crumbing walls, ROA’s monochromatic beasts can be found hiding across the cities of t he world, from London, Berlin to New York, Los Angeles and recently Casablanca and Cape Town. ROA’s reputation as a master muralist has grown exponentially, and his gallery works are no less impressive to behold.

Portraying animals on a massive scale and in stark contrast to their urban surroundings, their black and white appearance giving them a ghostlike presence. ROA’s intention is to query the relationship between man and animal, the urban relationship with nature and the manner in which we force it to adapt for survival, choosing remote and derelict locations to mirror our own unsympathetic treatment of the natural world and the creatures which inhabit it.

Now returning to StolenSpace for his third takeover of the gallery, ROA will be creating on site a fresh cohort of Bestia Animalibus, using reclaimed materials to create multi-dimensional, interactive works of art to beautifully illustrate the precarious connection between man and beast.

Apart from the $4.5K USD cost spread (pre VAT?) and logistical challenges that this particular piece presents, personally, I've never been keen on the large cabinet style pieces in a home setting, and I know other collectors feel similarly.  As such, I've always gravitated to the works on paper, which I think look better in the context of most homes, and show more overall detail in the execution of the work.  

The overall quantity of quality works on paper is minimal, and when you look deeper at this size range, you can count them on one hand.

Quite a few locals would take the ROA’s opening over CH’s one hands down... (funnily enough I was discussing exactly this with some friends last week) but obviously it might just be the taste of the ones I hang out with.

I completely agree you about the paper. I have a small original that I acquired a couple of years ago. The cabinet pieces were part of the show he did at Pure Evil, not my style and I think we speak on behalf of many

We swung by last night after the Skeleton Cardboard show at bsmt space (which is good, go see it), the Roa show was relatively quiet compared to usual stolenspace standard which was weird...

i would recommend anyone who is a fan in london to go see it, it really is pretty special, to be able to play around with the cabinets and move things around, its a little bit more interesting than just paint on a canvas. Spoke to Roa for a while too about his work and he is genuinely a very nice, happy chap, might of even got a little drawing from him too...

Went to the preview and indeed wasn’t full by any means. It was a shame there were no sketches or smaller works. Most works were on mixed wood and large. And very nice. £22k average price. I liked the interactive element and the paint was still wet on some.

It didn’t help there were road works outside. Good show but there last ROA show had a little more to offer. You cannot argue with ROA skill and artistic ability.

Beautiful if you have the means and space to hang.
