What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by Coach on Jun 3, 2020 21:36:15 GMT 1,
Met, thank you so much for posting this. I almost missed it as I donโt frequent this site as much as once I did. Iโm flabbergasted that my memory, so often sketchy these days, was right about Israel being the song that broke the Stravinsky! What a way to start the gig. Iโm not surprised that Helter Skelter stuck in eye likeโs memory though as the video you posted shows that that was the second and final encore. Spellbound wonderful as the first. Siouxsieโs performance was superb. She had such a fabulous stage presence, though in part I suspect that that was in part influenced by youthful infatuation! Thank you for finding and sharing the video. The opening shots of the gathering crowd were great, though it didnโt show one thing I still vividly remember; the growing excitement at the front during the Stravinsky. Iโm glad to see that it was recorded over two shows as I was perplexed by the sudden change of dress half way through, only for it to change back! Thoroughly enjoyed a trip down memory lane this evening thanks to you met.

Coach I don't know if you're aware (sounds like you're a fan so probably) but the album Nocturne of these two gigs is truly excellent too. I bought it originally on CD but I managed to track down a vinyl copy a while back so I have no use of the CD any more. You'd be welcome to it if you're interested and haven't heard it.

That is so kind thank you. I already have the LP on vinyl. I bought it on releases. What I wish I still had is the bootleg gig poster I bought after the gig. Huge poster, black and white, great Souixsie image, like a stencil. 1983! How time flies huh?

That poster does sound like it would have been worth hanging on to. But to be fair it was pretty hard to make a bad image of her, such an incredible look.
1983 seems a lifetime ago, but the music can always take you right back there! I saw The Cure play their first three albums in their entirety also at the Albert Hall a few years back. Another incredible gig and it showed again what a brilliant venue that is. I love the small intimate venues the best but there's something about the grandeur and history of that place which makes everything feel like an event there.
