I understand it is difficult to make a living as an artist, but you have to draw the line at someone who beats women. Ill never support him again. He always struck me an artist with a stronger moral backbone. I guess I was wrong. What a pathetic, soul killing cash grab.

Ok, so there isn't that much debate on this thread so to add an opinion

So how long does an individual have to pay penance for a crime? Does anyone on here ever listen to James Brown? have you seen his rap sheet, it ain't pretty, but he is still described by many as the godfather of soul. He was convicted for things much worse than Chris Brown was

I don't have much or anything to say positive about Chris Brown, the guy is clearly an idiot and his actions this week haven't helped things one bit, but back to the question in hand as it were. Is there a reasonable timeframe to allow someone some slack, help them out etc. or are we all without fault and can continue to point the finger at a stupid, completely unacceptable period of behaviour.

whether this thread was to voice a daily mail opinion or proper debate I'm not sure, but personally there are much bigger issues at the moment than an artist doing a cover for a second rate musician

Chris Brown is a big MBW fan I guess. He was at Opera in NYC the other day after his Good Morning America temper tantrum.

Guy obviously hasn't learned a thing from his past actions based on this weeks temper tantrum. The guy beat the HELL out of a woman he was dating. Beating up a woman is inexcusable. Id classify him with rapists and child molesters or anyone else who makes their victim feel powerless.

To be honest Im far more disappointed in Ron English.

Chris assaulted a woman.
That is a stigma that he will carry for a very long time.
It's different than James Brown. Different era.
We all saw the photos of Rhinna(sp), and they were not pretty.
He really messed her up in that limo.
Either way, I couldn't care less, I'm not a fan of him or his music.
I also like Rons' work, but this cover is not impressive.

not that i aprove or anything with Chris brown attack on Rhianna, but to compare the act to rape and or child molestation i think is a bit miguided , like i say dont agree with any of these points but a clear differnce in my eyes.

Never mind James Brown, Ike Turner is a complete musical pioneer with a truly amazing back catalogue, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves because he gave Tina a few slaps.
Should get bonus points for that in my book...
