I was just told that the Banksy image on the site is NOT the image that he is making for the show. It is only on the site to be representative...

Hopefully this does not slip into another JSG-related posting as this show and the featured artists deserve some true attention. There are some incredibly good pieces in this show (or at least featured on the website). Really like the Saber piece. The flag one is a bit different than anything else I've seen from him. And the Shep is nice as well. Even the Lister, who I'm not normally a fan of, looks good. And the MBW piece (regardless of whomever it was actually done by) is pretty cool in that it is done with broken vinyl records. Not sure which artist this is "brainwashed" from, but I do like it. Hopefully some of you NYC members can give us a full rundown with photos.

As one of the New York representatives on our forum I will gladly go and take pictures only. What I wont do is the following:
1. I won't pick up stickers. postcards or anything else that will be given away for free at the show and send them to complete strangers across the world.
I won't purchase anything on behalf of anyone but myself and won't think of arranging any sort of purchase for fellow members.
I won't comment on the art that I saw and I won't interject my opinion on the people, scene or anything I observe at the show.
I won't be accused of being a flipper, a scammer , a guy with an agenda, a kiss ass asst. moderator, an obnoxious New Yorker, a pretend DFACE fan or some douche with a financial motive.

Mate - your efforts are appreciated, there will always be a few cynics - I have fallen foul of them myself - but that's true of all walks of life I guess - there is a saying here - dont know whether it is in US of A too, but it seems apt - "Dont let the bastards grind you down."

Ron English takes graffiti to new heights this morning by skywriting the word CLOUD five times across lower Manhattan. The text soon dissipates into… actual clouds.

when we did the launch for xbox in the states, their version of the red arrows (who i think are called something like the blue eagles) were going to fly by with these units which puffed out cluds of smoke like a dot matrix printer in order to spell things in the sky, this looks like a similar thing has been done.

Can't say I'm very impressed by the 'curator' based on the lineup or text...

Went to the show tonight. The Banksy piece was one of the weakest in the show.

My favorite was the Anthony Lister painting (I'm biased) and the Basquiat. Also Ron Englishs work was top notch minus those Obama Lincoln pieces. The large Michael Jackson piece by "Mr Brainwash" was impressive even though I absolutely dislike most of his work. Shepards large piece in the back of the gallery was well done. The usual Obey Propaganda but thats what Obey is about. The London Police piece was quite detailed, that actually impressed me as I am not a fan of their work. The Saber American Flag piece was great. Revok came nice as well. Swoons piece was quit weak I might add. Overall a nice show by a group of good artists.

I don't know what the "sale" aspect of the show was but I noticed a red sticker on the Madonna Mr Brainwash piece, but then again thats to be expected since it's on the cover of her latest album. I'm assuming she bought it or someone trying to capitalize.

Not even sure the prices or if the Harings and whatnot were for sale.

It was all for sale, including the Basquiat and the Haring.

Everything sold, which wasn't surprising. Opera is on some next level shit... Glad they've discovered the new bits.

There is a sweet dorothy on steel in the window and the only piece that has sold thus far is the Faile canvas...cool show especially when you just stumble upon it.

Logan Hicks - Opera Gallery sold 2 of my 5 pieces, and they said they fully expect to sell all of them in the next week. whew! That's a hell of a chunk of money to have during these lean times. Plus, looks like they may pick me up for representation too!
