Planning on going to this tomorrow. Anyone been? Any advice on what to see / what to look out for?

Haven't been to this one and probably won't. Went to the one in Battersea last weekend where in my opinion by far the most interesting art on display was in the entrance hall where they have their recent graduates expo. Some really good stuff there. The actual art being exhibited in the main hall was to a large part a bit pedestrian for my taste.

I think there is a different mix of galleries going to the hampstead one though. I know eyestorm are there and a few others.

Better than the ones I've been to at Battersea in previous years.
Eyestorm have some nice things.
We bought a small Ortiz canvas from Olivia Connely. They have a bunch for around £140-£350

Jealous Gallery there too. They're previewing some prints from the Ghosts of Gone Birds exhibition. Some very nice prints from a great selection of artists. Would recommend taking a look.

I went last night and wasn't really impressed, far too many pictures and sculptures of rabbits! the only interesting galleries there were Manifold and Stolen Space. I managed to get free tickets otherwise I would have been pretty annoyed paying £20... Hampstead next week will hopefully be more interesting...

Exhibiting galleries at the 2013 edition of Affordable Art Fair Hampstead

113 galleries wil be exhibiting a huge array of affordable contemporary art, with pieces by established names sitting alongside work by the emerging stars of tomorrow. Paintings, photographs, sculpture, and original prints will all be for sale between £40 and £4,000.

Geoff Diego Litherland - being shown at "The Contemporary London" stand. I have an original by him - the Saatchi has displayed his work and included him in their "what to invest in" newsletter - not that that would make me buy :-)

I went on Wednesday. Good mix of stuff - including the normal hoard of Chelsea women braying away in a world of their own.

I didn't buy anything - although the Mrs bought a small bronze sculpture.

Ben Oakley Gallery was pretty fresh and original, as was the stand with the Nick Smith and Swoons. Overall, a few nice pieces but lots which wouldn't look out of place in John Lewis too.

Does anyone know of any exciting urban artists to expect at the upcoming Battersea Affordable art fair? Took a look on their site and they're not giving much away. I last went to this in 2012 and it was so-so. Anyone had a decent experience more reccently?

Ive been going every year since Affordable Art started. I think its come a long way, nowadays there is a fair bit of contemporary stuff there and i think it does suit all tastes. There is always something there to like. A few years ago i bought a small piece from the students/arts colleges section, its on my wall and i still love it. Its not in the league of Frieze, Art 16, London Art Fair where we all would recognise an artist or two (with a relevant price tag). The price ceiling of £4K is a good concept, most stuff is way cheaper, and you are buying stuff because it catches your eye with little or no investment value, so i think thats a good thing. I think if i remember Antony Micallef exhibited there many years ago!
The Charity bash tomorrow eve is always a fun night out, i usually take the kids back there on Saturday, as there is usually some fun kids printing or activities to do.
