Affordable Art Fair , by They call me Stephen on Oct 22, 2008 9:45:58 GMT 1, I went last year. It was really good, I would definately go again although it really isn't that affordable at all, quite the opposite!
Lots of street art with Andipa having a large stall along with works by; warhol, hirst, julian opie, mel ramos etc etc.
Didn't see any £500 micallef's though

Affordable Art Fair , by They call me Stephen on Oct 22, 2008 10:01:33 GMT 1, Yeah, think i remember the article...plus it was hard enough to get a giwtbb print for the £500 mark last year yet alone a canvas!
The fair was really good but its 'affordable' tag is pretty off the mark, everything had the price it would normally have had in a gallery (ie: high). I didn't expect otherwise but that daily mail article made it seem like an art cat boot sale!!
Still, great day out, really beautiful art, highly recommended

Affordable Art Fair , by daley on Oct 22, 2008 10:45:01 GMT 1, Yes AAF is worth a visit and has a mix of styles. I believe i've seen Micallef and Denning there in the past. They get round showing some of the bigger names by having small works on sale - that way the price stays down.

Affordable Art Fair , by trasbash on Oct 22, 2008 10:50:39 GMT 1, It is worth visiting although you have to be prepared to sift through the hundreds of pictures of flowers and David Beckham to find gems. Its like TKMaxx but for art. The max price went up from 2000 to 3000 a couple of years ago now making more like a cross between tkmaxx and house of fraser. Micallef used to exhibit at the fair with Woodbine Contemporary Art... as did I

Affordable Art Fair , by Oliver Winconek on Mar 10, 2009 15:39:07 GMT 1, I will have some work on the David lilford stand, prices from £95 up to £1500 for my work, I've tried to ensure there is a good range as I have noticed in the past that a lot of galleries seem to just bring work at £3000 and not a lot else! Cheeky devils

Oliver I have just worked out who you are, I was in there a while back and saw your pieces that I really liked but budget did not allow to buy, but I get David's invites. Are you going to Billy Childish preview, I cannot make it. Sam

Hi Sam, thanks for that, really pleased you like my work. I am currently working out ways to keep my work reasonably priced without sacrificing on quality. I will be at the Billy Childish show, should be a good one. I've already decided on the pieces I want

Affordable Art Fair , by Deleted on Mar 12, 2009 13:01:57 GMT 1, This was better than the last few AAFs tbh. A few galleries representing the urban/street, some great stuff from Oliver, also SPQR, also Cept amogst others Some D*Face but nothing new, a lot of Blek prints. The only piece I saw that I would've bought no question had gone by the time I saw it:
Who is this, its great.
