I don't know the area but would assume that if it had been done with the wall owners permission then it would have been cut right through the wall, braced and removed in one piece.
It looks like these guys have tried to remove it in slices by using a chain-saw to make angled cuts to remove in sections. I can only imagine it has ended up in a pile of rubble - it will now be interesting to see
- if it was done with permission - if it ever re-appears, what state will it be in
