I really couldn't care that he's been doing it for years makes no difference. I'm not gonna look at a tag then have you explain to me for half an hour what it means and why it's so special, surely thats not what its about?? for something to be art in my eyes it has to provoke a reaction or emotion with the viewer. I saw a tox 08 carved into a tube window last night and all I could think of is tax payers money being used to replace it. before you say some of banksys tags mean nothing, yup they are shit too. along with graf "writers", never understood that.

It won't be tax payers money though it'll be shareholders profits being used to replace it.
Not so long ago you were on here saying you were going to spray up the pavements with roses, that would cost taxpayers money to clean up. Bit hypocritical that you'd consider it O.K. to cost taxpayers Β£1000's so you could try and get a shag but you're so morally opposed to tagging isn't it ?

I couldn't care less about the cost. I just said it as that's what I thought when I saw it, I don't pay taxes it's not my money

TOX π¬π§ Graffiti, Street Art, Artwork For Sale, by Daniel Silk on Feb 22, 2009 11:42:35 GMT 1, I think having a tag by Tox as a piece of art is fine, in the way that its like an historic piece Most people here know of Tox and have seen his tags all over London, so owning one to go up on your wall at home is just like you keeping a piece to remind you of his work. In say 20 years time you can look back and be reminded of his work long after the ones on the street have been removed.
Of course some people would say that hate the tags anyway and dont want to be reminded of them on their lounge wall and thats fine! ;D Thats their choice.

Read the thread, plenty of people getting something from Tox and it caused a reaction in you so no different to what you proposed, you would have been the same as Tox.
It is your money you do pay taxes, you drive, you eat, you buy art, you consume, you pay taxes.

We have rules that cover that, and I think you will find they were enforced

and thats your attempt at justifying yourself?, how do you know these roses are going to cause emotions in passers by ?? Is this just a poor attempt to justify your own vandalism ??
95% of people dont care about the content, they just see it as being purley destructive

Donβt we have any freedom of speech?? Although I completely disagree with jboys views on this matter and wouldnβt wish anyone to get hit by a train or die regardless of what I thought of them, I do believe that is his opinion and he is entitled to it.
If one of predominant subjects street art speaks against is surveillance/ policing/ a nanny culture state, then surely this banning is a massive contradiction of what so many of the peoples whose work we respect and talk about is against. If we canβt express our opinions, regardless of how renegade, immature and disagreeable they might be then discussion will become very boring and of nothing quickly. IMO of course.
