New ROA drawings, by shaunq on Aug 9, 2010 8:15:24 GMT 1, I have to agree these sketches by ROA are fantastic !
So great in fact I had to buy the set of 4 bird images as soon as I saw them on Saturday.
You folks need to get yourselves into Pure Evil to check the others out, if you don't, I might go back in and buy the rest ......

Congrats on the pick up. I think the drawings that are left are mainly of whole animals, which to me are missing a massive part of Roa's style. IMO they need to be showing the internal detail...organs etc otherwise is just a sketch of an animal.

New ROA drawings, by shaunq on Aug 9, 2010 10:15:54 GMT 1, I agree with you Walshy, the "degeneration of the body" images are kind of the key to ROA's art IMO as well, but I also appreciate his more basic animal works as well
( that's if you can call a 25ft bird on a wall basic ! )
A couple of the other sketches are just animals, but they are also small personal representations of his larger pieces so I'm sure other appreciators will be keen to see 'em and will be relatively cheap additions to their collections.
There are 2 sketches of bugs as well, in a slightly different style to ROAs usual, that my GF had her eye on. I'd have bough one of them as well if my wallet hadn't clamped shut.
Every single ROA sketch in Pure Evil is worthy of a place in my portfolio .............. I'm just really pleased I got my hands on the 4x Bird pieces before anyone else had bought them ;D

OK, what I should have said is I prefer the works where you can see inside the animal. Otherwise for me, they just feel like skethes from a childrens book. I should also say that the whole animals look great, but for me they need to be huge to work... the scale plays a massive part imo

New ROA drawings, by jusdeep on Aug 9, 2010 22:01:43 GMT 1, Took this pic on Saturday, not sure if it's been shown before on here but some people may have not seen. I presume it's reasonably new.

New ROA drawings, by milkybinbags on Aug 10, 2010 9:16:19 GMT 1, Where is that one? Driving me nuts because I really recognise the bits around it but am totally failing to place it.
Charley did say last week that Roa had just left the gallery with a bucket of paint and a ladder so I guess this is from then?

New ROA drawings, by romanywg on Aug 17, 2010 21:55:42 GMT 1, ROA is the man on the street. If you havn't seen his work on the street and in abandoned buildings around his home town of Gent you're obviously not one of the 200,000 plus people that have. You just can't get better placement.

Agree whole heartedly. And if you are hesitating on the sketches, and can say that they look beautiful in the fleash. I adore mine.

New ROA drawings, by Ruggs on Aug 18, 2010 11:06:03 GMT 1, I think his style and subject matter would suit screen printing perfectly. I can imagine some very interesting stock mediums to compliment his imagery too. I can't believe that the likes of POW and BRP etc haven't been sniffing around. I think he's doing some project with BRP in the next year or so. We'll see!
