not a fake, but a street piece carefully peeled off the wall and stuck on a piece of paper and now for sale on ebay ! Hope that person doesn't say he or she likes street art !


this is what he writes on the ebay page :

I haven't got in touch with the seller, I don't even want to...
at the same time, I don't think there's any copyright or fake issue here : once pasted up on the street, the piece doesn't belong to me any longer...
I just don't understand how someone can do such a thing just to make a few pounds...
If that guy likes street art, he should just go paste it up back where it was...

and who would want a half torn paste up on a white piece of paper ? to me, it just doesn't look nice at all !

It's just my opinion but I don't think that any true street art fan would a)Peel a piece meant for the enjoyment of everyone off of a wall.b) Sell it or c) buy it.........This is pure greed and people buying this sort of thing just encourage it.Sure,it can be said that the artist no longer owns this piece but I would never have a street piece on my wall knowing that the artist is so strongly against it..Respect to Jef for his stand on this...I actually think you should buy it Jef and pick it up in person.

I can see where you're coming from but it being painted over or washed off or whatever is the natural progression of street work, having it removed to make a quick buck isn't which is what pisses artists off so much when it happens.

don't get me wrong : a street piece DOES change with time, of course. It can be buffed, torn, ripped, painted over, weathered and altered by wind, rain and sun... It can even be destroyed or cleaned off only a few hours after you've painted or pasted it : I have no problem with that, on the contrary, I like the way those pieces live their life. I enjoy that natural progression.
peeling a piece off a wall to make money isn't natural progression at all !
I believe someone who does such a thing can never pretend he likes street art. As for the usual argument : "you should be happy and take it as a compliment, etc..." No way !

For me if it was ramped up on the street thats where it should stay. Would it not be better for us all to put ridiculas high bids in. Then at the end he will receive a very large end of sale fee.
