the point of these help demonstrate how much of a played out joke MBW's work is. what's next in line for MBW? maybe a "Che" print?

MBW is more like watching performance art
But if he really is trying to show how played out it is, kudos, that is brilliant.

Mr Brainwash Spray Prints - June 17th, by Cedric Mnich on Jun 18, 2010 20:59:48 GMT 1, it seems like every artist has done a soup can series. Shep, Banksy, Gagon, Warhol, Mnich and the list goes on. Who was the first? Warhol? I like that these are a small edition too.
Yeah, difference is that I sold only two or three prints of my Greed's soup cans (which are editions of 10). I don't think mine are worse than these though... Probably too much of an investment banker's joke LOL

Mr Brainwash Spray Prints - June 17th, by chief on Jun 21, 2010 23:39:46 GMT 1, I voted that these were all s**te, they've actually grown on me after a second look. I quite like them.
You like them because the brands are familiar to you. The idea behind them and the execution is terrible. Why would you want some corporate art in your place anyway?

Have to agree that his mock-ups put every recent MBW release to shame... it really is THAT EASY ;D

Mr Brainwash Spray Prints - June 17th, by snausages on Jun 22, 2010 2:36:25 GMT 1,
, whoโs not so handsome, and thatโs sort of like me spoofing pop art but still paying tribute to it at the same time. But then Thierry, Mr. Brainwash, is putting that same Marilyn Monroe hair on everybody from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Michael Jackson to Larry King. I wish it were about him making a statement that art is ridiculous and that celebrities are interchangeable, but itโs not that at all. Itโs like, โthrow a bunch of sh*t against the wall and see what sticks."
That's rich coming from Fairey who churns out so much art void of any intellectual depth. Does he really think putting a marilyn wig on an "ugly" guy is actually making a statement!?
MBW's art IS about art being ridiculous, it's success is in the absurdity of it and the beating of the dead horse is the joke of it. And in fact it is actually humorous that people as ridiculous as Spock and Larry King are getting the Marilyn Monroe treatment.

Ooo, a forum member trying to psychoanalyze me from the content of a flippant post, excellent.
I wonder what I meant when I posted this.....''I much prefer fribhey's efforts to mbw's.''
Perhaps subconsciously it screams that I want to poke one up my own mother?
I wouldn't especially want that work on my wall as, like you said, the execution is poor. The brands are far from familiar to me. I'm English and I was only aware of two of them. I'm also a believer that most art (especially MBW and banksy's) is corporate so not sure what you're trying to say there.
