Scratching the surface by VHILS, by aspyhole on May 18, 2009 15:11:12 GMT 1, I love the work that I have seen too, but I'm not too sure what I think about this video.
Nice editing and music, but to be honest, did he do much more than paint on the wall and drill off some of the left hand side of the image?! Does it look any better with the drilling than without to you guys?
A

I think the drilling defiantly makes the work blend into its environment, in this case a decaying building, and gives it a very organic feel.

Scratching the surface by VHILS, by Heavyconsumer on May 18, 2009 17:22:20 GMT 1, I think it works on a more surface level too, giving the image a more textured appearance, while at the same time integrating the environment as Ronhill says. This is not my favourite example of his work, but I enjoyed the video and personally I think it is a strong piece.

I think Vhils is still massively underrated by far too many people. I absolutely love his work.

Scratching the surface by VHILS, by baileymontana on May 18, 2009 20:58:27 GMT 1, Enjoyed the video. Vhils really stood out to me at Cans. Agree with Heavyconsumer the drilling just helps it blend with environment which makes you feel the image actually belongs there rather than just covering something up.
