Cheers guys, ye was good fun and working with joe has really helped me loosen up a lot with my painting which is what I needed to do
if I have my way it will be the patisseries all the way, a nice month long diet of croissants and apple tart

Hey all

Just a quick heads up on a couple things coming up in the next few months

Next wed I am off to Paris with Joseph Loughborough on our French adventure. We are holding a joint show in Vitry (if you don't know it look it up, just outside Paris and is where C215 has been bringing the streets to life for the past year or so with recent additions by the likes of Roa, FAKE, Pixel Pancho, Sly2 etc)
The whole show, around 25 pieces minimum will be painted while we are there, going to be a real challenge but one were seriously looking forward to. We will also be painting live at The Louvre on Friday 5th and sat 6th as part of an art fair with the likes of Jef Aerosol, David Le Fleming and Sly2 so if anyone is in Paris let us know

When we return we are also involved in The Woburn Takeover on the last bank holiday weekend in August. Around 12 different artists involved including George Morton Clark, Oliver Wincinek, SPQR, Faunagraphic.....
All the artists will be there painting live aswell as a show at The Bedford Street Gallery. We done it on a much smaller scale last year and was an amazing weekend so I really recommend it if your going to be anywhere near Woburn at the time.

Also involved in the first Urban Art exhibition from The Victoria and Albert Museum. It will be a travelling exhibition starting at The Herbert Gallery in Coventry in October

Contemporary Prints from the V&A

The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is the first venue to host a brand new touring exhibition from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London - Street Art: Contemporary Prints from the V&A. Street art is a diverse, constantly evolving art form, one that moves across the derelict buildings, bus shelters and hoardings of cities around the world. Its roots lie in history, echoing cave paintings and stencilled slogans and images in political campaigning.

The exhibition showcases the work of some of the biggest artists in the street art community such as Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Sickboy, Pure Evil and D*Face.

The Herbert has also commissioned six emerging artists on the UK street scene to decorate its white walls. Fresh Paint will contain brand new work from Pahnl, SPQR, Lucy McLauchlan, Ben Slow, AsOne and Newso.

To explore another aspect of the street art scene, the Herbert will be showcasing new aerosol art from Birmingham based graffiti artist Mohammed Ali. Ali calls his art, AerosolArabic, a unique fusion of urban graffiti art with traditional Arabic Islamic calligraphy.

I went this evening. Mixed feelings.
There were speeches before you could see the exhibition, which seemed odd.
The highlights are definately Ben's, spqr's and panhl pieces in the end room. Huge canvass of the coppers at the ice cream van was great. Ben's piece is in the op - huge, and fantastic. Panhl has done a film, with loads of little figures around the screen. It was brilliant. Lucy M's piece was superb too.
I wasnt so impressed with the collection of prints. Some crackers - a couple of banksy's, and some cool PE pieces. But many were mediocre for a major exhibition imo. For example they had a scorn death tarot print - which is a good print (I have one), but not so noteworthy as to make such an exhibition I thought. Interestingly they had it as dated "about 2009"! Out by at least a couple of years I think.
It was great to see and chat with spqr and panhl. Particulrly good to finally meet Ben Slow too.
Glad i went - picked up a couple of cool graf fanzines for the nipper.
As always I picked up a few flyers, as I know a few people on here like to see/collect them.If anyone wants one, pm me your address, and I'll get it off in the post to you.

I wasn't too impressed with those at the beginning who were giving speeches when one acted like an uptight headmaster and told everyone he wouldn't talk whilst it was so noisy; what did he expect from a hall full of street art/graffiti enthusiasts?

It was the busiest launch I've yet to have the fortune of being a part of and to be honest, it all went very quickly. I would've liked to have stood near my animation and overheard more reactions but I think it was well recieved.
