BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by geoffw on Jan 26, 2010 10:44:29 GMT 1, Maybe a DVD release of the film will donate to it? If Banksy Did a Haiti Print, a Limited Ed. Hand Silk Screened DVD Release, or a Timed Print Release. He'd sell 20,000 Prints in an hour @ $200 ea. Single Handedly saving Haiti. Maybee that's a bit much, but I bet he'd easily sell 10,000- 20,000+ prints if he gave the fans a time released print to Help Save Haiti. Everybody would win Haiti would gain money and attention. and 100,000's of Banksy fans (who were never able to own a print) will get to have one on their wall. Hah, a Banksy and MBW collaboration print(to save haiti) is probably out of the question. But would be great/ironic. given the mondrain print was rubbish. No Santas Ghetto this year. Would make sense for Banksy to help out haiti with his talents. If he's got time to draw on walls in Utah (only to have the work buffed out in days). I'm sure he could find the time to stencil something up for Haiti. As much attention as his work will get on the back streets of frozen park city Utah. I'm sure a Banksy Haiti Print release would deliver/send a message to alot more people than were moved by his street work in Utah. makes sense.
So he raises a bunch of money and.....
Money isn't the issue - the US telethong raised more than Β£30m. It's getting aid to the people due to messed up infrastrcuture that's the problem.
It's not like the issue needs a bigger profile is it?

BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by Daniel Silk on Jan 26, 2010 13:38:54 GMT 1, www.thisisbristol.co.uk/homepage/Bristol-museum-visitors-got-sneak-preview-Banksy-s-movie/article-1759302-detail/article.html
"Graffiti artist Banksy has just revealed the title of his debut film. But visitors to his Bristol exhibition last summer had already been let in on the secret. The art enigma's movie, Exit Through The Gift Shop, which is named after a piece that went on display at the Banksy vs Bristol Museum exhibition last summer, received its surprise premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in America on Sunday. The artwork which inspired it is a gold-framed landscape, with the message scrawled on top of it in pink graffiti. But the title appears to be so good that Banksy is not the only one to use it. Exit Through The Gift Shop, the band, played their first public gig in London in December just a few weeks before the Banksy announcement. They play cover versions of acts including Kings of Leon and Robert Palmer, and originally came up with the name in 2006. Drummer Simon Duncan said: "I was 38 and sat in a pub with a bunch of muso mates who always talk about forming a band but never do it. I said I'll learn to play the drums and we'll have a gig for my 40th birthday. "Around 80 people saw us play in our back garden and we were called Exit Through The Gift Shop. My band mate Darren bought the domain name but has since let it go. "We tried to get it back but an agent bought it in March last year β we thought it was odd because he wasn't interested in naming a price. "I came up with the name because it's instant branding β every time a friend goes into a museum anywhere in the world they say they saw a flier for our band. "We're sort of fans, I've got his first book, so good luck to him," Mr Duncan said. "But you would think someone like Banksy wouldn't come up with a title before Googling it first." Mr Duncan, who works in IT in London, said the band were working on a new, as yet unwritten song called Banksy Nicked Our Name. They have joked on their Facebook page advertising their next gig that "Banksy's lawyers are also welcome to discuss how much we'll charge him for the use of our name". Banksy's film premiere was described in the American press as the "hottest ticket in town". A trailer announcing the 85-minute movie was only revealed a few weeks beforehand, as the artist played his cards typically close to his anonymous chest. Fewer than 500 people crammed into a theatre in Utah to watch the first screening on Sunday night, including a number of celebrity actors. The film, due to be released this spring, reportedly features glimpses of the artist at work, albeit in shadow and wearing a hooded top. It is filmed in a documentary style and tells the story of a graffiti artist trying to make a film but failing. In a statement Banksy described it as "a simple everyday tale of life, longing and mindless vandalism". To mark the occasion, Banksy put up 10 new pieces of artwork around Park City, where the film received its debut. A spokesman for Banksy confirmed that the band had nothing to do with the film of the same name and it wasn't just an elaborate publicity stunt."

BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by manchestermike on Jan 26, 2010 13:52:31 GMT 1, Also, Why the F*ck isn't BANKSY doing some sort of HAITI relief fundraising or print to help the folks of that country?
Because (to use your vernacular) he's not a fucking charity
Even Jesus didn't go out of his way to save and heal every single person in the world.
Of course he didn't - that'd be like you or me trying to heal every single person in the world - we've as much power to do it as jesus did

Wow...getting spiritual in here! Not the first time Banksy is compared to Jesus I think.
