Old Pictures On Walls Price List, by Ruggs on Feb 6, 2010 14:57:39 GMT 1, I've just found out a girl I work with has an unsigned GWB which she purchased back in the day for £75. She'd been to a friends house that week and saw some of his Banksy prints which she really liked. He told her where to buy. She wanted a signed GWB but was a day or two too late. She said she could've had some other prints too but decided they were either not to her liking or too much. I told her she'd done well with her purchase. She was completely unaware it was worth anything. Lucky bugger!

Reminds me that Rube Copper was made before POW existed. The Rude Copper prints or at least the original run was printed in Bristol. Years ago, I had a nice chat with the printer and they were saying how Banksy never paid them for the prints 😆 and they showed me in their store room they still had the original Banksy Rude Copper screen.

Old Pictures On Walls Price List, by umajets on Aug 20, 2019 11:24:12 GMT 1, I wonder if I'd have sprung for the Banksy signed versions at the time if I'd had the chance? Probably would have got 2 different unsigned ones instead to make my money go further.
Actually, thinking about it, I probably would have bought the Hewlett instead. I went to Santa's Ghetto in 2005 and bought a signed 'Noodle Gob' by Hewlett but ignored all the Banksy prints in the racks.

Old Pictures On Walls Price List, by tonys on Aug 20, 2019 13:19:30 GMT 1, My first purchases were all unsigned, after all, who was Banksy? And how could he charge £65 for a signature?
Only after the GWB release did signed become apparently obvious.
Also, even tho POW 'existed', everything was shipped/labelled from PYMCA which was Steve's company.

Unsigned ones are up at Sothebys next week with reserves at $90,000 I was working in Shoreditch in 1999/2000 when laugh now but one day we will be in charge appeared on a nearby wall. So he wasn't unknown to me but the person who said he was unknown is correct in 2003/2004 he certainly wasn't mainstream.

I know for sure that Christies reserve on Girl With Balloon unsigned is £50k which takes it to £65k with fees
