Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by manchestermike on Apr 13, 2008 10:56:39 GMT 1, I've seen all the pieces and think compared to the Permission show it looks weak. At Permission there was probably half the show I'd consider buying, at this one there was one piece I liked and someone else picked that up Nothing to do with the pricing, just the actual pieces...
Of the pieces rkitek posted the prices are:
Picture 1: Jo Rabbit Mixed on Wood 34x50in $7000
and
I Love This Shirt Mixed on Cardboard 25.75x59in $5000
2: Allergic Reaction Mixed on Canvas (Unstretched) 38.5x57in $6500
3: Bob Mixed on Paper 27.75x39in $3500
4: Sniff Mixed on Canvas 18x36in $4500
5: She Was So Rich Mixed on Canvas 31.5x31.5in $5500
6: Didń't Go Out Much Mixed on Skatedeck 7.5x31.5in $2500
and
Mrs. Andersen Mixed on Cardboard 33x82in $5000

Here is a link to all pieces of the show with prices and dimensions. It's a large pdf-file so it could take some time to open it.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by romanywg on Apr 13, 2008 11:01:55 GMT 1, I totally agree with you Mike. There were half a dozen pieces I would have bought (If I had the cash) at the Permission Show and just the one here. That said, they are not very good photos on the pdf of the price list.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by pezlow on Apr 13, 2008 11:06:53 GMT 1, Agree with the comments above. Surely it was a bit much for Herakut to have 2 big solo shows in the space of 5 months... just seems to be overkill to me. Firstly they can't be expected to keep up the quality of work, secondly the market becomes flooded with original work. Prices seem high too.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by christoffero on Apr 13, 2008 11:57:03 GMT 1, Herakut are next on my list if anyone's got any available but for now I'd be interested to know which pieces you would have bought from this collection. I'm not particularly into doggy pictures but they are so good at them I'd have to include "Immer Anders", then ,"she was so rich", and the mad but brilliant "linked by the weave".

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by mcnuts on Apr 13, 2008 12:05:56 GMT 1, show seems ok, but to be honest was surprised by the prices considering what was avail. Some nice stuff, i liked the painted decks but little beyond that for the cash. Just my $0.02

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by toe-b on Apr 13, 2008 12:26:36 GMT 1, My favourite ones:
1) Little brother looking awkward 2) Immer anders 3) Linked by the weave 4) Streichelzoo
The work it a bit different to The Permission show, but not weaker IMO. Actually have no cash for one of these, but I have to say that Seth is a very nice bloke and highly recommendable seller.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by steve on Apr 13, 2008 13:27:03 GMT 1, i wasn't keen on much at the permission show... but I love a few of these ones such as "allergic reaction", "she was so rich", "Bob", "Streichelzoo" (although not into the dog ones generally), and "joe rabbit". I don't think prices are too high either on the most part to be honest.

Sorry Mike didn't really need another Herakut piece but I could not resist... ;D ;D

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by uac on Apr 13, 2008 15:43:10 GMT 1, I agree the work looks weak compared to tlsg show but the LA space is much larger and feel they have just tried to fill the space instead of creating fewer quality pieces.
As far as having two exhibitions and flooding the market, i think its fine to have 2 exhibitions considering its in the states.
The prices don't seem to bad now...but...I do feel however the work was a little overpriced for the introduction of 2 relatively new artists from the off.
I was hoping they where going to move forward and build on what they made for tlsg but it seems the quality of the work and slipped a little.
A problem alot of artists face when hyped to much to fast. Shouldn't hurt them in the long run as long as the originals don't hand round for to long.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by fastrack on Apr 13, 2008 15:48:30 GMT 1, I think there were actually quite a lot of good pieces in this show. For the people over here, its difficult to tell that much from a PDF surely?
God Gave Me Eyes is great. Piece of the show (pdf) for me.

Herakut at Carmichael gallery, by Matt-lock on Apr 13, 2008 16:00:04 GMT 1, Herakut is one of my absolute favs at the moment but I think the prices were a little high. I mean there were barely any pieces under $4k and even some cardboard pieces were $5k if I remember correctly. Curious to see what has sold and if they can demand those prices then good for them.
