Vhils is the most exciting artist in this genre at present IMO.

Sure. Here are the details:

"Visual Pollution 2"
102 x 83 x 7cm

It's floated in a stunning deep black frame by Pauli Frames (Laz's regular framer). It's also signed on the reverse of the frame.

I bought it from Laz Newcastle where it was part of the Outsiders show, so it comes with all the paperwork.

The photographs don't really do it justice. It's got a lot of detail, layers and very rich colours.

i love his street work, the truman one is amazing. but i dont get this.. maybe i am blind..

I guess its something to do with the gas mask image and the strong suggestion of decay depicted by the torn collage that relates to the title of "Visual Pollution". Could be a message about graffiti and how its perceived in society or more likely the growing concerns of the environmental issues our planet is currently threatened by.

Very strong piece and great work as ever from Vhils.

It looks like he ripped some old posters from a wall and framed it because that's exactly what it is. Except he has cut the gas mask image into the layers of the posters. It's about as close to his street work as you'll get, unlike his more recent work which has a meticulously cut white stencil over the top of the posters. Similarly sized pieces at the current Laz show are £4k+VAT

Poppa, no offense taken and I appreciate that the fact you queued for your print gives it extra sentimental value. From a pure price perspective this is a good offer though. Now that the green NBG's have been assigned, maybe someone is less attached to one of those and wants to take up this offer?

I actually thought the "aving a laugh" comment was meant to mean that the Vhils is worth far more and is far superior to the new Banksy image...which by the way is true....

I was recently invited by Vhils to Lisbon as a guest painter at the annual VSP (Visual Street Performance) show. VSP is an annual live painting event which takes place in the Portuguese cities of Porto and Lisbon. This year VSP took over a huge semi-derelict school in the heart of Lisbon to be decorated by a host of Portuguese talent (including Vhils, Hium, Klit, Mosaik and more) . Previous guests include CASE, Xenz, Sickboy.
I spent an amazing 5 days there painting, meeting all the crew, eating great seafood and talking to some very passionate and inspiring artists and art lovers. Thanks to all that made it a great trip.
