The bast looked phenomenal in the flesh and theres a good amount of hanfinishing on it as well. Looked even better when it was framed.. few speckles of pink paint on a white frame ala framerman me thinks

The Bast was hand finished with the pen he used to sign it. Little dots and hearts all over Popeye with some variations here and there. The Xenz print was pretty much hand painted. I picked up both the Xenz and the Bast and they are getting framed next week.

Bast was great...really didnt like the black version though, they seemed to have paper stuck to them where they had been stcked when wet I went for the silver 20 edition of Mickey instead....would have had popeye but saved the money for lottery purchase

I noticed on the Bast POW description that Popeye is a 2 color screenprint. Obviously black is one of the colors. What is the other color? Which colors are hand painted? Just curious. Any answers would be appreciated.

Can't comment on the new Vhils piece, but if its anything like my nothing lasts forever, you'll be a happy man: interesting finish to them, on super thick paper and the quality's superb!

oh, and they smell awesome when you open the tube!

Notice the difference on the Bast signatures? Some of them (including mine) have been done with really thick marker pen. Some of them have been done with a much lighter pen.

That hand finishing is crrazzzy. I didn't get that on mine!

That Popeye is simply awesome. Great image, irrespective of finishing, you have to be happy if you picked one of these up. I'm still sans Bast, but its getting harder to resist.

I personally dont think that the splashes add anything to the image, its still cool but They seem like they are there for the sake of it......jus my opinion

I do not think this has been posted but got a mail from Laz announcing 3 new Vhils prints......maybe interesting for those who missed out on the latest ones from POW....nice low editions of only 11-17.

For the interested a seasoned member of the forum adviced me earlier that Vhils originals can be had from his native rep. Vera Cortez....for very reasonable prices!

saw them the other day at the shop and thought they were lovely, also said they were better value than the pow pieces. it's the blu pieces there that made it for me though. the guys pieces are hilarious

I was out in Lisbon at easter 2008 with my wife.....I would recommend it not only for the range of street art....inc dolk..sickboy!...etc...but the insides of the churches are pretty 'cool' too....add to that a Vhils exhib.! a no brainer?

Just picked mine up today, and love them,Kim was really helpful and those not taken, I could pick the image I liked, as all are a different wash.
As always, photos, don't do them justice, and as said above, superb prices
